The other week my boss mentioned our solar 101 training should be basic, like 'Schoolhouse Rock!'. It made me laugh because we were the oldest on the call, and our references aren't always understood. The more I thought about it though, the 70's attitude in 'I'm Just a Bill' felt perfect for the current solar industry. Solar works, there's industry issues, and a lot of us are just trying our best to make life better. In 2024 a lot of people don't understand DC system size, kilowatt-hour, and utility billing. Homeowners are confused, pissed off, and feel scammed when their initial expectations don't match reality. All of us in this industry need to keep doing more, keep making system owners feel better, to recognize one panel still needs help, still needs community and adoption, and government support.
