I can’t quite recall when Barb McGregor and I first crossed paths; perhaps it was at a Hobart Hurricanes game or during her tenure in the Executive building with Premier and Cabinet. Regardless, one thing remains constant—we've always shared a fondness for a good cup of tea and stimulating conversation.   Fast forward to today, and the remarkable Barb stands as the Managing Director and Founder of McGregor and Associates. Specialising in strategy, effective communication, and advocacy, McGregor + Associates collaborates with leaders and organisations to cultivate capability, confidence, and engagement.   During our recent tea rendezvous, Barb and I delved into an exciting forthcoming project. Over steaming cups, we explored the potential of a media partnership to amplify our impact. Meet Lucy Liu – General Manager from Industrilas China! 1. What gives you energy and joy in life? “I like to keep myself busy with calm and still work at home. And I get energy from trying new things, possibilities and always trying to be better. I also enjoy a glass of wine and good whiskey.” 2. Do you have any hidden talent that most people do not know about you? “Yes, I play the lute.” 3. What is the best thing about working at Industrilas? “It is a new area and industry that has opened for me which I didn’t know too much about before. And that is exciting.” 4. Has your Swedish Manager Magnus applied any Swedish culture at the office in China? “Yes, Magnus has absolutely applied some Swedish culture at the office. So there is a good mix of both worlds.” 5. 6. Have you implemented the “Swedish fika culture” at the office? “Yes we have!”

I respect this, a lot It's a business investing in young talent, successfully retaining them, and eventually going on to promote them to senior positions - it says a lot about the business W Communications must be. And more, they are now embedding this formula into their vision for the next decade. 🧠 When people ask me - what's the difference between Public Facing Impact (PFI) work and PR - here's one part of the answer: Your "public space" (define that beyond four walls!) should have impact that customers can see. ☕ I walked into a Starbucks in Pennsylvania this am and felt such immediate joy by what I saw. Vincent van Gogh inspired work from Theresa Todd's 1st graders from Neshaminy School District. (After I praised it, the. barista told me they hope to do it every month for different schools - that's PFI + using your space with impact!). 🎒 Just yesterday, Damien Huang posted about Cotopaxi ambassadors - who are committed .. "to a life of curiosity and adventure to do good in the world." That list gives me insights I didn't have about the humans supporting the brand and another reason I'm glad I chose my new bag!
