In a little more than two years, Hello Family—a unique collection of support systems for young children and their families—has gone from an idea to scale up and build capacity for early childhood services utilizing an innovative "pay for success" funding model to being hailed in Forbes as "the holy grail of success" for the organization's work to improve birth outcomes, increase school readiness, and enhance childhood health and well-being in our community. Opportunity, opportunity, opportunity!! I would work on the diversity in my area. I would make it to where parents are able to choose where they would like to send thier child(ren) to schools/daycare. Diversity is a major issue in my area. I have worked in childcare centers where I've had small children ask me " why are you so brown?". In the times we are living in now, it was a very heart felt moment.......fast forward.. there are some talented, well educated folks in my area. There are a lot of parents with degrees who can't pass the Praxis test (certification tests) to teach. Does this make them unqualified or uneducated? Not in my opinion. I would make another opportunity for those parents so they could provide for thier families. I would look into the schools and get an insight on how each school is growing, in all areas. Host meetings for leaders in the area to collaborate and share ideas because at the end of the day OUR children are OUR future and it takes a village. That's just a summary:)

We know that there are years (and decades!) of extensive research of data on the impact that we leave to children as teachers- even though we only teach them for a year! It is not just on how we speak, listen or respond when we are with children but also the subtle behaviors and conversations that we have indirectly with others when we are in the same environment with them. Children are always observing on -how we communicate with other educators/adults -how we talk about children to other educators/adults -and how we talk about ourselves to other educators/ adults These small subtle behaviors are often not considered because it is just something we do all the time (or it could be part of the organization culture) but they are all very significant to how children co-construct their connections to and with their world around them. So the next time you think your children are not listening, try making a funny animal sound (🐄 or 🐔). They will respond to it, because they are always ALWAYS are listening 👂👂👂. Listen in to Episode 19 with Anson Li as he speaks about the impact we, as teachers leave to children and how we should really question what that would look like.
