https://lnkd.in/efTe3qRw I wrote a SET article from my Master's research. I'm a child of the 80s so Pasifika Transformers is my homage to that era. Funny story - one of the peer reviewers didn't know what "transformers" were. The exact feedback was: 'Is this something of the author's creation?' I thought gees, I wish I was the creator! I had to find someone who had talked about transformers to cite them in my research lol. I was in a conversation yesterday and I remembered this article and shared it with them. KEY CONSIDERATIONS: * Read through the Conclusion. * Use that as a checklist to see whether you address these points already in your settings. * If you do - post some evidence of it on this post, would love to see it! * If you don't - and want to know how - DM me and let's have a talk * If you don't - and don't care - but work with Pacific - why are you causing harm to my communities? You will be responsible for the stunting of the economy that relies so much on Pacific peoples, gifted Pacific peoples. Every time I see Pacific, I see phenomenal peoples. I see gifted peoples. Will you? #AionoAnalysis

Yo Buy Our Songs and Support Our Kids Education Kumul Genius is the platform we are rolling out to keep our kids in school, to support our parents and focus on our kids as the only way our country will prosper and grow. This is a song I wrote and got someone to compose and sing, for the Teacher who saved my life: Go here to buy for just $1. https://pngjive.com/ The Teacher that Saved A Lost Boy’s Life ____________________________________________________ This is a story, I never tell. But I dont know if she and the tolai science teacher are still alive. I hope this story finds them. ____________________________________________________ When I was 14, I was at Hagen Park High School in Mt Hagen. I wasnt a great student and outside of the classroom, I was turning into a bad kid. I was causing alot of trouble and doing things I shouldnt be doing. I was actively thinking of leaving school and choosing a life that would have caused the people who loved me, alot of heartache. I was incredibly lost. One day there was a fight in school. I was the only kid suspended. They suspended me for four days, while they made a decision. When I came back they said I was suspended for another few days and then I was on punishment for two terms. When I came back to school, even though I was on punishment, I was still acting up. One day that first week back, during the practical skills class the teacher sent all the kids out of the classroom and told me to wait cause he wanted to talk to me. It was then I learnt that they had decided to expel me and recommend that other schools in hagen think twice about taking me. What happened next changed the course of my young life. The little Milne Bay English teacher stood up in the staff classroom and threatened to resign if they expelled me. Her name was Ms Takon. The tolai science teacher, Ms Mudian, backed her up. Two teachers, one lost kid. I can tell you the other teachers didnt like me. I ignored the principle and deputy principal openly during school hours, I challenged teachers, I caused issues in town, I just caused problems and was getting worse. After the teacher told me what Ms Takon did for me, I left his class stunned. The science teacher, Ms Mudian saw me walking past her class and called me in. I think she could tell I had just found out what they did for me. She told me to get my act together. I could tell she was mad at me but was trying to control herself. I just nodded my head. She looked like she wanted to slap me. I left her class and walked to the English teachers office. She was in and her door was open. I knocked and waited outside. She came and stood and looked at me. I could see the fear in her eyes. She was scared of me. All these years later, I can still see that look. Yet, she had basically saved my life. CONTINUES IN COMMENT

Goodbye, former Professor Laura Mullen. You expressed your sympathy with Hamas’ barbaric October 7th attacks. “Academic freedom” does not mean no consequences for immorality. Academics continue to tarnish their own brand. So out of touch. So pathetic. Mullen ironically expressed that she felt like a “victim” because Wake Forest University didn’t stand by her. Good job Wake Forest University for distancing yourself from another immoral, broken professor. Former Professor Mullen. You’re broken. Go fix yourself. _______ “So it’s kind of a Duh, but if you turn me out of my house, plow my olive groves under and confine what’s left of my family to the small impoverished state you run as an open-air prison, I could be tempted to shoot up your dance party, yeah, even knowing you will scorch the Earth,” she wrote, according to the Winston-Salem Journal. The university told the Journal that while it “affirm[s] the right to individual freedom of expression,” the “posted comments caused significant anxiety and fear for members of our community. And to be clear: statements that diminish the value and dignity of human life or condone the use of violence are counter to the values inherent in the Pro Humanitate ethos of Wake Forest University,” the university said. https://lnkd.in/ehFbHpUt

At any level of the educational system, this approach is useful. I focused on Valiant's song, "Dunce Cheque," this year and tried to relate the lyrics to topics we were covering in class. What ensued was a lively discussion, plus students also emailed me their interpretation of the song and had the motivation to read the book "Scammer's Yard" by Jovan Scott Lewis. If I can get them to read a book, then I have sparked their curiosity. That is the goal of teaching! https://lnkd.in/ei2DMVU7

Founder of Conductology; A scientifically proven innovation which progresses a plethora of skills among those with additional needs.
And so the story began… As a young child I was aware of being surrounded by sound. Not necessarily music, but sound in all its forms. Conversations, laughter, shouting, whispering, kitchen pots and pans, hoovering, dogs barking, cars passing, horns beeping, phones ringing, birds tweeting. The world was a musical array of sound combinations and it amazed me. Our world is a sound world. A universe that ignites emotions, brings back memories and stills the heart. Sound is music and music is sound. As the years progressed I remember having a particular fondness for certain sounds. My granddad’s whistling, my friends knocking on my front door and gentle sounds of the page turns as mammy read a story. For those of you who do not yet know me, I am Dr Denise. Since I was very young, I dreamed of becoming a teacher. I wanted to make a difference in the lives of as many children as possible. I wanted to inspire them, teach them, nurture and support them, and help them become the very best they could ever be. I became a teacher and taught thousands of children over the years. Many typical children, but most with special/additional needs. You see, I grew up with my uncle Dessie. He was the most incredible human being EVER. He was kind, funny, non-judgmental, loving, and embraced life to the full. He had Down syndrome, but that did not define him. He taught me more about life than any institution ever did. After 30 plus years of teaching and managing educational establishments, I realised that I wanted to create global impact. I became frustrated with the education systems. And so, I decided to immerse myself in research. I have a PhD in special education and music after I spending a long number of years researching, inventing and developing Conductology. This new invention now brings hope, opportunity, innovative and inclusivity to our world’s most vulnerable people. The journey started a long time ago and now we have our universal system. Conductology, where NOW EVERYONE can play! #conductology #downsyndrome #music #musiced #inspirational #teaching #specialneeds #education #family #universal #vulnerable #innovation #globalimpact #musictherapy #musicforall #everyonecanplay #love #resilience

In honor of pi day, I want to celebrate the elegance that is mathematics. Calculus is beautiful. Physics is wicked cool. Stats are important. My graduate advisor is a mathematician and I was his only biology student - and while my own math skills are rusty, I'll always pipe up for the value of models and formulas. When teaching biology, I always tried to demystify concepts and illustrate relationships between values in an intuitive way. We teach math like it's something scary. That's a shame. Take a read and lean in to a little math fun: https://lnkd.in/epCuqY_h #PiDay
