Intern Spotlight!!! C&B is proud to recognize Trey Reynolds. Trey Interned with C&B this summer before returning to Auburn University to finish his Degree in Industrial Engineering.  Trey hit the ground running when he came on board helping us set up our new lining & coating facility.  He worked under the direction of our plant engineer to perform time studies, process flow models, and physical set up of the process flow that we are currently using today.  Trey jumped right in to learning our products and processes, and helped in many departments this summer. "What I enjoyed the most was being able to give my input on important projects and decisions, something that many lower-level employees/interns don’t commonly have an opportunity to do. I enjoyed learning the steps and procedures needed to complete a project. For example, how to go from the early development stage to getting the idea approved, then contacting vendors and getting the necessary material ready to actually implement the solution/idea." Good Luck this fall Trey!!!

Meet Anthony, one of Domi's summer interns for Team Marketing! Here's a little bit about him: "Greetings, I am Anthony Patterson II, a graduating senior from Jacksonville, FL. I currently attend Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. My hobbies include listening to music, playing video games, going to theme parks, and beaches, playing basketball, and watching TV/movies. I am also interested in walking trail parks as I never experienced walking on a trail until attending Famu. What excites me about the internship is the ability to work on tasks that can improve our skillset to become more knowledgeable about marketing and work with others to develop innovative ideas and use those ideas in reality. 🚀 Exciting News! 🚀 Thrilled to announce the successful completion of my internship at Parker Hannifin Guided by the engineering dynamic duo,Brendan Solinski and Sean Driscoll, Ryan Goldstein and I spent 10 weeks optimizing the Miller Swing Arm work cell for enhanced efficiency!🎯 🔍 Challenges Uncovered: The layout and batching techniques were hindering smooth workflow, causing bottlenecks and inefficiencies. 🛑 🛠️ Solutions Implemented: Redesigned Layout: Workers now have dedicated spaces within the cell, eliminating clashes and enhancing productivity. 💼 Redivision of Work: By redistributing tasks, we've transitioned to a single-piece flow model, ensuring synchronized completion of swing arms. ⏰ 💡 Results Achieved: Initial estimates suggest a significant 10% boost in efficiency! 📈 However, we're committed to validating this through new time studies once our team has fully adjusted to the revamped setup. 📊 🌟 Future Enhancements: To further streamline operations, we're exploring the addition of an extra cart to hold unused swing arms, cutting down on unnecessary trips to the inventory warehouse and saving valuable time. ⏳ 🌳 Enjoying My Time at Parker Hannifin: I must say, being part of the Parker Hannifin team has been an absolute pleasure. Today's Career Spotlight is Project Manager, Mike Stengl. Mike has been with the Samuels Group since 2016. What is your training and education? Bachelor’s degree in industrial studies with an emphasis on Building Construction Management from UW Platteville. Completed my OSHA 40 while in school along with some scaffold erecting and crane rigging accreditation, none of which are necessary for my position, but nothing wrong with having the knowledge. Training while at Samuels – WHEA certified I believe is the term, extremely helpful with working in healthcare. Had one summer internship with Samuels the summer before my senior year. What has been your job growth throughout your career? Interned with Samuels and got hired on after graduation. Started in the PA roll, extremely valuable to see the right and wrongs of a project and to build a understanding of my own management style. From there I progressed into my own small projects while performing the PA roll and slowly worked up to larger projects. What is your favorite part of your job? When a job is complete, big feeling of accomplishment. What advice would you give to someone looking to get into Project Management? Get an internship anywhere, even if it’s in a field that isn’t your ideal line of work.
