💭 How will the future of fashion look like? As a designer, I constantly wonder the future of fashion. During my second year at art school, the documentary "True Cost" opened my eyes to the unsustainable cycle of production and consumption. It sparked a quest for alternative methods, leading me to grow materials with kombucha, dye fabrics with flowers, and volunteer in sorting factories for second-hand clothing. About five years ago, 3D entered my path, and it clicked instantly. This, I felt, is the future of fashion. Yet, I soon discovered that 3D had been around for years, with the fashion industry adopting it out of necessity during the pandemic. For some, unfortunately, 3D fashion was a trend- neglegting it's true power. Every day, I realize that working as a digital fashion designer isn't just about artistry but also activism. I wholeheartedly believe in this cause. Despite setbacks, I continue working towards a better future, engaging in conversations and visualizing what that future could look like. I was thrilled when Antonio Talarico, Isabelle Udo and CLARE TATTERSALL invited me again to participate in Future Front Row during Digital Fashion Week in New York. This time, there is no pre-recorded animations on the catlwak, but real-time interaction. In a performance with a dancer, the lines between augmented reality and live action blur as the designs come to life. The performance will be featured by the otherworldly characters of Harriet Davey. In the past, brands created worlds through editorials, films, and photoshoots, where the product manifested the experience. With the digital shift, we no longer need just the product; we can now be part of the experience. Call me delusional, but I believe that as traditional stores fade from our streets, we will fill these voids with immersive experiences. Generative design has completely altered my 35years of experience as a Fashion Accessoiries Designer. As I’m reflecting on the incredible achievements of Midjourney over the past 22 Months, revolutionizing visual ideation. Now I can't help but wonder: what can we expect in the next 22 months? Here is The result of those 22 months from V1 to V6 with a no-brainer prompt such as [packshot][crimson-red leather shopper bag][pure-white-background] The impact of Midjourney in boosting creativity, rapid visual iteration, and AI-powered image generation has been truly remarkable. The innovative capabilities of generative AI have revolutionized the way I’m now approaching design, opening up new possibilities and pushing the boundaries of creativity. From creating entirely new fashion designs based on specific parameters to applying style transfer and generating unique variations, the impact of generative design in the fashion industry is truly transformative. I truly believe that the future of fashion design is set to be redefined in ways we never thought possible. Sizing is always a challenge for inclusivity and diversity. This is a ongoing topic in the digital fashion world as digital avatars or "digital mannequins" can be endlessly customised, offering more options to patternmakers and technical designers than a dressmaker's mannequin. Here's an enticing avatar solution system I'm interested to try. Reblium's software Reblika, specially created to develop avatars for fashion and tech. This looks to be a smoother process to make adjustments than within the current CLO/Marvelous Designer software.

I am excited to share my experience in the world of fashion. For over 20 years, I worked in physical fashion, but for the past two years, I've dedicated myself to digital clothing design. Transitioning to 3D technology has opened up a multitude of new opportunities and advantages that I'd like to share. ✨Advantages of Working in the Digital Sphere for Fashion Design: 1. 💃Unlimited Creativity: Digital tools allow for experimentation with shapes, textures, and colors without the constraints of physical materials. In the 3D space, even the boldest design ideas can come to life. 2. 👌Resource Efficiency: Working in 3D significantly reduces the costs of materials and samples. Virtual prototypes can be created and adjusted without using fabric, saving resources and time. 3. 🏃🏽♀️➡️Speed and Efficiency: Digital design greatly shortens the time from concept to finished product. Virtual collections can be created and presented to clients much faster than physical ones. 4. 🌎Sustainability: The shift to digital processes helps reduce the carbon footprint and waste, making the fashion industry more eco-friendly.
