Key learnings from our first roundtable.. Looking forward to the next..
Associate Professor of Marketing | Member of The Small Business Charter Management Board | Stakeholder Director at PraxisAuril | Director at the Open North Foundation | Host of the "Why Small Business Matters" Podcast
Three things we learned from hosting our first dedicated Knowledge Exchange Round Table Event – Feb 2024 at Northumbria University (Dr. Padmali Rodrigo) in collaboration with Manchester Metropolitan University Business School (Jennie Shorley) 👇 🎯 Regardless of geographical location, people want to talk about Knowledge Exchange! Any academic will tell you about the difficulty in securing research participants. Here, it’s different. Our community are curious and understand the importance and value of delivering successful Knowledge Exchange work. People have been so generous with their time and keen to participate. Everyone is talking about it and their feedback is so valuable. 🎯 The term “Knowledge Exchange” is of secondary importance. Core Knowledge Exchange activity is given lots of terms, often used interchangeably by different teams inside and outside of a university. Yet there remains little doubt that university and business collaboration activity is special, and it receives unwavering support. 🎯 Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS) offers social capital. This event is part of a formal piece of contract research, funded by CABS. It’s acted as a catalyst to spark important conversations across the sector. Moving forward, many members will look across the CABS and Small Business Charter network for guidance and support to trigger and assemble their Knowledge Exchange Activity. #university #knowledgeexchange #knowledgetransfer PraxisAuril

Dear Network, What a wonderful and inspiring Associate Deans Conference organized by AACSB, in the welcoming city of Boston these two days - 17th and 18th of october 2023 ! Associate deans roles in a 2.0. business schools environment were discussed, without any taboo … How to survive as an associate dean without burning out 🤔 ? What does leadership means 💡 ? How to cope with IA and train students in this new world 👾 ? How to enhance sustainability without greenwashing ♻ ? How to use power (and define it) 🤝 ? What about an effective and i nnovative teaching assessement? How to take care of the faculty's mental health? How to enhance alumni’s engagement for a stronger impact? And last but not least what about leading an hybrid organization (“new normal”) in a time of high turnover? So inspiring, so generous, so clever. And yes, I was there. So lucky to participate to this great collective event ! So many ideas and tips … impatient to bring them back home for sharing and implementing 😉 Many thanks to Tamym ABDESSEMED, Dean of Excelia Business School Thanks to AACSB for this wonderful journey with 300 associate deans ! Head of Institute Business Administration and Management, Professor for Strategic Management, Innovation, IP and Standardisation
It is with great honor that I can report that a jury established by Austrian Standards has awarded me the "Living Standards Award 2024" in the category "Standards for Education". The award ceremony took place in Vienna in the Marx hall during the future technologies and start-up focussed 4GAMECHANGERS festival, organised by Pro7Sat1 media group and ORF. A video is available on Youtube (https://lnkd.in/dWEEkEMS). For me, this is not only an honor but also a confirmation, first, that it is always worthwhile to include topics in teaching which tackle current issues of strategic importance but have not yet made it into standard management and innovation management teaching material. Secondly, it also confirms the importance to have teaching and research on topics go in tandem. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to IMC Krems University of Applied Sciences, which places so much value on innovation and has provided me the opportunity to develop such innovative teaching. As the "Standards for Education" category was given for the first time, we are also the first tertiary education facility in Austria to receive this award. My thanks go also to my team at the Institute for Business Administration and Management at IMC, where we have started (not so long ago) to research standards and standardisation topics in greater depth, as well as to my family, who frequently had to bear some of the burdens of me working on this (and other) topics. Standards and standardisaton are an important future area (not only) for innovation management and respective teaching, and I am looking forward to exciting new developments, such as the outcome of the EU-funded research project EDU4Standards. #standards #standardisation #4gamechangers #innovation #innovationpolicy #innovationmanagement #management #teamimc
