Dive into an in-depth interview with our CEO, Anthea Middleton, featured in the latest issue of Energy Magazine. Anthea passionately discussed the imperative need for an end-to-end evidence base, strategically linking workforce research to comprehensive system-wide programs of action. This strategic approach is pivotal as Australia navigates the complexities of the energy transition, with the ambitious goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. In the interview, Anthea sheds light on the critical role of bolstering our energy workforce, highlighting the demand for an additional 32,000 electricians to achieve our net-zero target. She underscores the importance of fostering diversity in the energy sector, emphasising increased First Nation participation as integral to reaching Net Zero. Anthea also discusses the importance of increased participation of women in the energy workforce and advocates for promoting viable pathways in trades for the younger generation. Last week the SEAI published The Interim National Energy Balance 2023, which tells us how much energy Ireland used, and where it came from last year. The report shows that over 32,000 heat pumps were installed in Irish homes in 2023. We're very proud to be part of this transformation replacing fossil fuel energy systems with a more sustainable option. However, the report also emphasizes the need to significantly increase the replacement of fossil fuel boilers with heat pumps to meet our climate targets. If you're considering replacing your boiler with a more sustainable option, please fill out our enquiry form.
