Swollen rivers, inundated roads, and flooded streets—monsoon is wreaking havoc in many parts of India. In Assam, floods have affected over 6 lakh people across 19 districts, with at least eight rivers flowing above the danger mark after days of torrential rainfall. The Brahmaputra is flowing much above the danger mark, raising concerns among residents. In Gujarat, Junagadh district is reeling under nature's fury, and torrential rains in Valsad have led to massive traffic disruptions as an underpass submerged in water. Minimum rainfall may occur in arid regions like Rajasthan and maximum rainfall is often observed in states like Meghalaya, Assam, and parts of the Western Ghats. Monsoon is wreaking havoc in various parts of India, causing widespread destruction and chaos. In Maharashtra, five people, including four children, drowned at Bhushi Dam in Lonavala after heavy rains caused the dam to overflow; the search for three missing individuals continues. In Kedarnath, Uttarakhand, a massive avalanche over Gandhi Sarovar was captured on video, which went viral on social media; fortunately, no casualties have been reported. Ahmedabad, Gujarat, is experiencing severe monsoon mayhem with torrential rainfall leading to flooded streets, submerged vehicles, and waterlogged homes. In Surat, Gujarat, CCTV footage shows an electric pole falling on an auto rickshaw amid the rainfall. Patna, Bihar, is in a flood-like situation after hours of relentless downpour, with residents wading through knee-deep water. In Karnal, Haryana, a video showing roadwork being carried out in the rain sparked concerns about the quality of construction, leading to a temporary halt in the work. Lastly, in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, a car got stuck in a pothole following minimal rain, raising further concerns about the poor condition of roads. ⚡️ At least five people have died in Karnataka, India due to heavy rain and flooding in various regions. Residential areas in Kushalnagar and Belagavi cities were inundated, causing life to be disrupted. The Kaveri catchment area experienced heavy rainfall, leading to water inundation in Kushalnagar. Several districts, including Shivamogga, Chikkamagalur, and Belagavi, were affected by the rain. The state has issued a high alert for the upcoming week, urging district authorities to be prepared for heavy rainfall in coastal and Belagavi regions, as well as in northern districts like Bidar, Yadgir, Vijayapura, and Kalaburagi.

The recent heavy rains have caused a flood-like situation in North Bengal. Many areas, including Dhupguri, Moynaguri, and Kranti in Jalpaiguri district, are badly affected. Rivers have reached danger levels, and several districts in Bihar are also at risk. The local communities are facing a lot of problems, and they need help right away. This situation shows how important it is to be prepared and have good infrastructure to deal with such natural events in the future. #westbengal #flood

Mudigere Tejaswi Oru!!🌧️⛈️🍃 Heavy rainfall could lash Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand , Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Madhya Maharashtra and Coastal Karnataka. 📍 Conditions are likely to become favourable for further advance of southwest Monsoon into some more parts of West Rajasthan; remaining parts of Haryana, entire Chandigarh and remaining parts of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu during the next two days. A trough at mean sea level extends off the Maharashtra-Kerala coasts, while a cyclonic circulation is positioned over the northeast Arabian Sea off the Gujarat-north Maharashtra coasts in the lower and middle tropospheric levels. Additionally, a trough runs from this cyclonic circulation to north Bihar in the lower tropospheric levels. As a result, fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) is expected over Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe, Lakshadweep, Gujarat state, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh. Scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall is also likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal over the next five days. Isolated heavy rainfall is very likely over Chhattisgarh on June 29-30, Gujarat Region on June 29-30 and July 2-3 over Coastal Karnataka from June 29-July 1 and Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra from June 29 to July 4. In addition, a cyclonic circulation lies over northeast Assam in the lower tropospheric levels, with strong southerly/southwesterly winds prevailing from the Bay of Bengal into east and northeast India at these levels. Under its influence, fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura during the next five days. #KarnatakaRains
