Personally, I think you are perfect just the way you are. That being said, if you are looking for an easy self-improvement tip, you might be interested to learn that "a study conducted at Vanderbilt University in 2005 concluded that laughter increases your heart rate between 10 and 20 percent and that 15 minutes of laughter could result in burning around 40 calories a day." That is team health and wellness at it's finest and we have the playbook! https://lnkd.in/ef8tY8xc #humor #humoratwork #workexperience #workculture #culture #creativity #innovation #changemanagement #strongteam #teamdevelopment #leadership #workplacewellness #vitalteam

Episode 51 | The Daily Dose: A Bias That Might Be Good In today’s Daily Dose, we explore how adopting a bias for action can be a game-changer, especially in times of uncertainty or self-doubt. Navigating Through Uncertainty with Action Feeling uncertain or questioning your ability to succeed is a natural part of the human experience. However, these feelings can often lead to paralysis, preventing us from making progress. This is where a bias for action comes into play. The Power of a Bias for Action Breaks the Cycle of Inaction: When you're proactive, you break free from the stagnation that uncertainty and doubt can create. Builds Momentum: Each small step forward, no matter how insignificant it might seem, builds momentum and breeds further action. Fosters Learning and Adaptability: By acting, you gather real-world feedback, learn, and adapt, which is far more effective than trying to predict and plan for every scenario. Embracing Proactivity in Uncertain Times Start Small: Begin with manageable, achievable tasks. This could be as simple as making a to-do list or starting a small project. Celebrate Small Wins: Recognize and celebrate your progress. This boosts confidence and reinforces the value of taking action. Focus on What You Can Control: Direct your energy toward areas where your actions can have an immediate impact. Today’s Challenge: Identify one area where you’ve been hesitating due to uncertainty or self-doubt. Choose one small, concrete action you can take today and do it. Notice how it shifts your mindset and momentum. Let’s Discuss: Have you experienced a situation where taking action, despite uncertainty, led to positive outcomes? Share your story and inspire others! Remember, action is often the best antidote to uncertainty. Let's embrace a bias for action and transform our challenges into opportunities for growth! #ActionOverInaction #PositiveMomentum #CareerGrowth #DailyDose #Leadership

Let's talk about the profound impact empathy in leadership can have on revenue growth 💼📈 Listening to a recent Harvard podcast, "What It Takes to Lead Across Generations," got me thinking. I recently analyzed companies like Pandora, Uber (with an interesting case, that I will share in another post), and Walmart, and how they all faced a common challenge: the need for a better work environment. The podcast highlighted the crucial role of "empathy" in today's leadership, because of course, who wants to feel like a mere "robot" at work? Unfortunately, outdated mindsets still linger in some high-ranking positions, reminiscent of the "Mad Men" era. (You know the TV show, right?) But let's back to the topic, prioritizing employee development, well-being, and offering tailored training programs are just a few ways these organizations are enhancing workplace culture, leading to increased revenue growth. Take Salesforce, for instance (one of my favorites). Their empathetic culture has been instrumental in their remarkable growth, with revenue skyrocketing from $4.6 billion in 2011 to over $30 billion in 2023. Plus, they boast low turnover rates and consistently high Employee Net Promoter Scores. Studies confirm that a positive work environment can boost productivity by 12-18%. So, it's evident: fostering empathy not only creates a more fulfilling workplace but also drives revenue growth. 🚀 Me personally, I've had the opportunity of working with amazing leaders like Alejandro Pardo Selene Cuadra Pedro José Abad Falla to mention some, that are making a difference in the world! https://lnkd.in/e5HE9y3V

115. Build The Life You Want: A Conversation with Arthur Brooks and Karen Dillon - Arthur Brooks teaches a popular course at Harvard Business School called Leadership & Happiness. One important underpinning of the course is that science can help us to better understand what will actually make us happier – and Arthur has worked hard to incorporate these concepts into his own life. Recently, he teamed up with Oprah Winfrey to write, "Build The Life You Want: The Art and Science of Getting Happier." In those pages, they consider a number of thought-provoking questions, including “How can we mobilize our lives toward greater happiness? How do we translate ideas about happiness into action? And how do we take control of our present and our future?” In this episode, Arthur joins host Karen Dillon - co-author with Clayton Christensen of "How Will You Measure Your Life?" - to dive into these questions and more! Arthur also reflects on the fact that much of the knowledge that is shared in “Build The Life You Want” is practical and yet relatively unknown. Listen to learn more about both the art and science of becoming happier! https://lnkd.in/e8BCzrFj #BuildTheLifeYouWant #MeasureYourLife #Happiness #Happierness #EmotionalSelfManagement #MetaCognition #FourPillars #HabitsNotHacks #IdeasIntoAction #InspiredByClay
