Watch now: How does an airport help people quickly board a flight without compromising on security? Munich Airport asked that question when they wanted to improve the passenger experience in their Terminal 2. And the answer? They chose to introduce biometrics from Gunnebo. Biometrics is an excellent way to verify and authenticate individuals. It's simple to use, highly accurate, and helps maintain a speedy flow of people. Keeping queues down and visitors happy. With biometrics from Gunnebo, passengers could move effortlessly through Munich Airport towards their flight. And as a bonus, with better people flow also came higher operational efficiency for the airport. watch the video above or read more about how Munich Airport have discovered new levels of customer service and reliability here: https://loom.ly/wlDGv5I #security #airports #biometrics

The New York Times released an article on Facial recognition technology, and how it is revolutionizing airport travel, offering seamless integration and enhanced security measures globally. From expedited check-ins to streamlined boarding processes, airports like LaGuardia in New York are leading the way in implementing facial recognition systems. Delta Air Lines' Digital ID program is just one example of how major airlines are embracing this technology to improve efficiency for passengers. However, the widespread adoption of biometrics also raises concerns about privacy and ethical implications, prompting ongoing discussions and the need for careful regulation. Despite these challenges, the future of airport travel appears to be increasingly reliant on facial recognition technology, marking a significant shift in how we navigate and experience air travel. SITA and Fraport have introduced facial recognition technology at Frankfurt Airport, enabling all airlines to use biometrics for identification from check-in to boarding. This makes Frankfurt the first European airport to offer biometric touchpoints to all passengers, allowing seamless, contactless travel throughout the airport. Using SITA’s Smart Path biometric solution, passengers can register in advance through the Star Alliance app or at check-in kiosks with biometric-enabled passports. Once registered, passengers can pass through facial recognition checkpoints without physical documents. The technology is already in use by over 12,000 passengers, and the goal is to equip 50% of check-in kiosks and boarding gates with this technology. The system is powered by NEC's highly accurate face recognition technology. #NEC #NECAM #IDELIGHT #facialrecognition #transportation #transportationinnovation

Seamless passenger flow in airports refers to the efficient movement of travelers throughout the airport. This includes security, travel procedures, biometrics, and #accesscontrol. Airports employ measures such as rigorous checks, #biometrics, streamlined travel procedures, automated baggage handling, and clear signage. Entrance control systems require valid credentials to access restricted areas. Remote connectivity software helps manage entrance control systems and ensures smooth passenger flow.
Traveling during the holiday season can be hectic, especially with long lines at airports. However, #biometric #security offers a solution for seamless passenger flow. By using technologies like facial recognition and fingerprint scanning, airports can expedite the security process and enhance the overall travel experience. Say goodbye to long queues and hello to stress-free holiday travel ✈️🎄

What is this picture about? well... this is a screenshot of the Beyrouth airport in Strava. Not an explosion, but a concentration of GPS logs of sport activities; however as you can imagine nobody is running or cycling on the airport tarmac. As the Israeli army have been spoofing GPS in Israel to defend against drone attacks, the sport activities geolocated in Israel & recorded on Strava have been spoofed to the Beyrouth airport in Lebanon. GPS jamming & spoofing is on the rise (Middle East, Baltics, etc.) and micromobility operators shall be knowledgeable about this trend to assess the threat and think about a plan B in case your micromobility GPS location logs get spoofed to the nearest airport. At Connected Cycle we have built a short webinar for that purpose: register ⬇ : ➡ French speaking session – May 28th 1pm - Paris time (CEST) - https://lnkd.in/ePAqcuJB ➡ English speaking session – May 29th 1pm - Paris time (CEST) - https://lnkd.in/eQBwgntU
