Helping financial services and fintech companies build revenue through content | Exploring content strategy, AI, and SEO | Institutional FX journalist
Worst content move a fintech can make? Hiring a content marketing agency before an internal content champion. You cannot expect an agency to bring the value of a Head of Marketing or even an internal content writer. Try to rely on an agency in this situation and all you’ll receive is: ❇️Unused work ❇️Suggestions that never get implemented ❇️Lost opportunities ❇️General frustration (“We’re not getting any ROI!”) Before considering an agency, hire at least one person to in-house marketing. Agencies are a tool and need the right conditions to bring you results. Give them the right conditions and you’ll see amazing results. Don’t, and you might as well flush your money down the toilet.

I imagine 3 BIG things: * I imagine a creative thinker who's obsessed with customers, lands breakthrough stories in front of the right people, and loves using data tie their team's work to business results. * I imagine an up-and-coming content leader ready for the role that puts them on a path (or accelerates the path) to unbelievable future roles to come. * I imagine someone curious by nature; super steeped in the changes going on in the world of content - AI, b2b WOM and community building, video, etc - and has a strong POV on bringing to life a content program others point to and say "YES! Like that!" If this sounds like you or someone you know, we can't wait to talk.

Your Content Sparring partner 🥊 | I share writing & editing lessons so B2B solopreneurs can scale influence & attract high-value clients | Edited 3M+ words | Former Head of Content | Running on seltzer 🤩
🚨Head of Content job alert 🚨 My friends at Beam Content 💡 are hiring! I’ve been doing fractional managing editor work for them the past few months to fill a gap. Well, they’re now ready to bring on their 4th full time hire. Here’s what my experience of working with Beam has been like: -Amazing team. I didn’t know it was possible to get this many nice people in a room at once. -Amazing freelancers. Holy shit. It’s been an absolute pleasure editing drafts. Their writers are literally dripping with talent. -Fascinating work. I’ve been running interviews with extremely smart SMEs about cutting edge topics. It’s heady in the best way. -Insane organization. This group is on top of their shit. I don’t know how else to say it. It’s frictionless. -Different, in the best way. They don’t focus on SEO. They’re more interested in content driven by conversations that actually help buyers make decisions. I haven’t had to squeeze in even one keyword. (Don’t come for me SEO! I said different, not necessarily better). Alright enough from me. They’re got a job description up on Superpath. Gonna pop it right here. https://lnkd.in/e7zmXUCe Two favors: 1. I have zero control over the hiring decision so please don’t DM me about it, just apply! 2. Please comment for reach! Let’s make waves so Beam and the perfect candidate can find each other and live happily ever after. Cheers!

Sharing this great job opportunity for 3 reasons: 1) B2B freelancers should give it a read. Heads of Content are heavily involved in the vetting process for hiring new writers. aka - They're who you need to impress. The more you understand how they're spending their time, the better you'll understand how to pitch yourself to them. 2) It looks like an awesome job opp. If I didn't love working for ZenMaid so much, I'd be applying. 😉 3) For any of my friends wondering what the heck I do for work, this job description sums it up pretty well ha

Exciting April/May updates for Teamtown: - Added 7 new client logos, all perfectly within our new ICP that we defined last year - 5 of those were from organic search, something we’ve been working towards for quite some time. 1 from a referral. 🎉 - Collected a wonderful case study from our friends at Built - strong 2024 with their team so far! - Churn is at an all time low, and only from our old plans and old ICP. LTV is way up. - Onboarded a very talented Lead Designer & currently hiring for a Content Strategist 👎 Biggest pain atm: hiring. Finding top-notch design talent is no joke, but it’s at the core of what we do. And we’re getting better at it. Much better. After a tough 2022, it’s exciting to see the changes we made in 2023 now creating positive outcomes in 2024. New problems to solve, new goals to hit. 🫡

I’m hiring a founding product marketer at UserEvidence. If you’re an A-player who wants to own product marketing and be my right-hand person - keep reading. You’ll get to build the entire product marketing function from the ground up, work closely with every leader across the GTM team, and bring our customer voice platform to market. You’ll have clear goals, know what success looks like, and get strong support from the best agencies and freelancers around. And most importantly - you'll get to work directly with a CEO who gets marketing (sup Evan Huck). I want to bet on the right human. I’ve seen how much damage a two-person marketing team can do when both people compliment each other really well. Attitude and mindset are more important than having worked at a big name startup before. This might intimidate some but it’s an incredible opportunity to prove yourself in a big way. My email and LinkedIn DMs are open (not for recruiters) if this sounds like you. Link to the job description in the comments. #productmarketing #hiring PS I’m all about creative outreach if you’re serious about applying for this role

Hiring an agency isn’t necessarily cheaper than hiring an in-house team, but it’s definitely more scalable. With an agency, you have the flexibility to rapidly increase or decrease content production when needed. Whether expanding into new markets, launching a major campaign or simply keeping up with seasonal fluctuations, an agency has the bandwidth and resources to accommodate those requirements readily. Unlike the traditional in-house setup, where hiring, onboarding and training new team members can be a time-consuming and resource-intensive process, agencies are geared up to adapt swiftly. What are your thoughts on keeping content production in-house vs. external? #marketingagency #contentmarketing

HIRING: Content Creator here in NYC. Open to an individual or an agency, must be based in NYC as there'll be in person work. Love Creating and Consuming Content? You shoot and edit? You know who D-Rock is? Monthly retainer budget is approved, now it's time to find the ultimate content creator who wants to get paid for the work they love doing already; - You can shoot (Your own equipment not critical) - You are an editing beast! You can edit, re-size, re-format for various channels; you especially know how to take one piece of content and re-purpose across multiple channels - You can expand those editing skills to Audio/Podcasts (If you can use Premiere Pro, Adobe Audition is an easy learn). - You know Socials and how to purposefully create content based on the social channel its for. - You're fast and consistent; you know execution over perfection. DM or email over some samples of your work - it'll do all the speaking for you!
