It has been 2 years since the launch of the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Since its launch, 988 has become a vital resource nationwide, answering over 10 million contacts and providing crucial support to individuals in crisis. Addressing disparities in crisis care, such as the differential response to medical emergencies, underscores the importance of initiatives like increased mental health funding, the launch of the 988 crisis line, and ongoing advocacy for policing reform to ensure equitable crisis intervention systems.
