After some self experimentation regarding graphics, in my opinion, it is difficult to get cartoonish graphics rather than realistic ones. Here is everything I tried for this to achieve similar results like Clash Royale or Worms 4 mayhem or Subway Surfer:- - Your art assets should be modeled as cartoons. Meshes are the first step towards achieving this. - Textures of everything should be of solid colors. I would highly encourage each model to be divided into many parts, where each part should have a solid color. - Lighting can be tricky. Always have a directional light to simulate the sun/moon. Make sure to tweak it's intensity so we can add some point/spot lights to simulate Global Illumination. When everything is looking good, bake a lightmap. Make sure to have reasonable amount of shadows only. - Use vfx filters afterwards. You can add borders to everything being rendered to achieve the kind of look you need. Do keep in mind that it is pretty easy for someone to deviate from cartoonish to anime style look due to these filters. - Use of custom shaders and materials can also help to achieve this kind of look. You can see a render of my experiment below. I would love some feedback and tips to make it better. #gamedev #gamedevelopment #graphics #gamedesign #gamedesigner #gamesindustry #gameindustry #roblox #unity #unrealengine

Meet Wiz- A lonely wizard in a world filled with hatred. Journey with her as she finds her way from childhood to lead her Wizard Clan out of slavery. I had lots of fun sketching out this character and will soon try converting it into a 3D model! My inspiration was the characters from a game called Sky: Children of Light Would you like to see this character as a 3D model or perhaps Pixel Art? Let me know in the comments 😊 #gameDesign #characterDesign #sketching #gameArt #fanArt

Representation in video games is absolutely crucial for inclusivity, and hair can be an important part of identity. A recent study found that 8 in 10 gamers have felt excluded or not good enough due to poor portrayals of textured hair. The difficulty and cost of resources for developing different hairstyles is one reason developers, especially smaller development teams, struggle to portray certain hairstyles accurately. That’s why Code My Crown is such an important initiative. Developed with a team of Black game developers and celebrity hairstylist, Nai’Vasha Grace, the Code My Crown is a guide of step-by-step coding instructions for accurately creating a variety of textured styles while also educating about the historical context and cultural impact of the different styles.

One of the reasons we love board games is that they're visually appealing, 3D objects. So, when you've got a game with a relief 3D box, themed around collecting art pieces, and with some easy-to-learn-hard-to-master mechanics, it's a keeper. Hence why we love Art Society from Mighty Boards so much:
