This year the tech industry has been heavily impacted by reductions in workforce, more significantly the role of "recruiter" has seen significant impact. Throughout most of my career, I've been deeply rooted in Talent Acquisition. At my core, I’m a recruiter. However, my roles have spanned from Admin and Project/Product Management to HR, Operations, Coordination, and beyond. Today, without any pay cut or demotion, I proudly bear the title of Program Manager. This transition is a testament to how the skills honed as a recruiter seamlessly transfer across various professions. Currently, there’s a surge of “recruiters” entering the market. From my experience, I can vouch that these individuals are among the finest talent out there. As a recruiter, one often dives into unfamiliar business areas, swiftly adapting, organizing, and becoming deeply embedded in that domain. Companies would benefit greatly by being more receptive to professionals from Talent Acquisition. If I took a poll of from my current and past clients they would overwhelmingly say something to the sorts of: "if I need to find someone I'd call you", "you find great people", "you find people we need", "you’re a great person to help me staff my team", etc. No fault to my clients, all the fault on myself for not really showing everything I CAN do for YOU. Going on my 18th year in staffing (in staffing years thats like 100) all with Insight Global, I get put in a box that is resolves around "'just staffing". When you work for a start-up staffing company that breaks the mold (winning fastest growing staffing company many times in a row, doubling growth year by year, etc) then it’s natural to be thought of as "that staffing partner" when I need you. Insight Global has evolved into so much more than staff augmentation. Welcome to my "Not Just Staffing" series. I am going to challenge myself to break out of that perception and it’s my fault that I let this happen. First up...........the name of our company, Insight Global.
