Ok, so I don’t do this very often but today I’m calling all friends, family, andr acquaintances to help… NOW is the time to GIVE TO PEAS!! Why now? This week the Big Give challenge will match every £ we raise, so just £35 will pay a WHOLE YEAR of a child’s education. Why PEAS? After 7 years working at PEAS, I’ve well and truly looked under the bonnet. Here are some of the reasons Thom Groot and I still give more of our own money to PEAS than any other cause: 1. It’s such good value for money! Where else could you pay for someone’s school for a whole year of for £70?! (£35 when matched by the Big Give). 2. It really makes a difference! Just one year increases a young person’s future earnings by 10% and girls that complete secondary school are 5 TIMES LESS LIKELY to have a child who dies before they turn 5. 3. It’s run by totally amazing people who do the right thing! Ok so this one might sound boring, but having worked in my sector a long time, I can tell you it’s not universal. Our Uganda and Zambia teams are in it for the long haul. PEAS schools are set up to last forever. They keep costs really low. They don’t distort local markets. They work to be low-carbon. They work in collaboration with government to change secondary education permanently. In fact, the whole programme is designed to minimise dependence on international aid. Why you? We know there are a lot of demands on people to give these days. All I can say is that when I see young people getting turned away from PEAS schools because we have no more space, it is heartbreaking. Right now you have the chance to change that for at least one young person. Please do it click below you can!!
PEAS are currently taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge, and over the next 4 days, every donation you will be doubled. This means, if you donate £70, it will be doubled to £140, which could support two students through a whole year of secondary school. Donate here: https://buff.ly/3uHiDAF Give the gift of education this Christmas. One donation, double the impact.

This week all donations to PEAS will be DOUBLED as part of the Big Give Christmas challenge. Every donation, big or small will help us get more children into quality secondary education in Uganda, Zambia and Ghana. I know there are lots of great causes to give to, especially in the festive period, so here are a few reasons to consider PEAS… Transform a life: Only 1 in 3 children go to secondary school in Sub-Saharan Africa. Millions of teenagers are missing out. And yet, secondary education is the most effective intervention for breaking the cycle of poverty. Save the planet: Evidence shows that girls’ secondary education is one of the best investments for addressing the climate crisis. Bang for your buck (for the hard-nosed investors!): PEAS provides better quality education, to poorer students at a lower cost per child than any comparison schools. And, your £ goes a long way in Africa, especially this week when you will double your money. It costs PEAS £70 to educate (and feed) a child for a year.
PEAS are currently taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge, and over the next 6 days, every donation you make will be doubled. This means, if you donate £12 it will be doubled to £24, which could support a student through one term of secondary education. 📈Here’s a quick tip for all charities looking to ramp up their online donations… Across your website (along the main user journey leading to donation*) share a brief excerpt case study on what was achieved when [Peter Smith] donated [£37] per month. Then on the donation page, make sure this donation amount is one of the options presented prominently. Limit the friction at that point. Please then share the results with me! * if you don’t know what yours is, get in touch. #priming #behaviouralscience #charity

There are under 12 hours left of the Marie Curie 36 Hour Challenge ⏳. Please donate before 10pm tonight so we can raise as much money as possible for end of life care. The first £100,000 of donations will be doubled! Thank you so much 💛 https://lnkd.in/ej7HGM89 In the next 36 hours, over 400 people could die without the care and support they desperately need. With the current cost of living crisis, and winter approaching, conditions are only getting worse for people living with a terminal illness and the people that care about them. This needs to change, and soon. Everyone deserves the right care and support, so they can feel comfortable and secure, right up to the end. With your help, we can ensure more people get the best possible end of life care. How would £1 million make a difference for people at the end of life? · It could help fund 4,830 nights of expert Marie Curie nursing care. · It could help fund the heating in all nine Marie Curie Hospices for two and a half years. · It could help fund the Marie Curie Support Line for three and a half years.
Time is running out! 📣⏲️ You have just 12 hours left to double your donation! One in four people don't get the end of life care they need. This needs to change, and soon. Donate and help ensure everyone gets the end of life care and support: https://bit.ly/3TyeU2n The first £100,000 you help us raise during the 36 hours will be doubled by matched funders.
