Should you sign an exclusive contract with ordering platforms? Streamlining operations and additional marketing support can often sway owners to sign exclusivity rights with Uber Eats or any platform. Short term exposure on the platform can be great! However, the long impacts of this could be devastating. 1. Knowledge is power and your data is theirs - Your customer data will belong to the platform and can hinder your ability to build a direct relationship with your customers and market to them in the future. 2. Changing algorithms - Relying solely on one platform makes your restaurant vulnerable to any changes in their policies, algorithms, or even a potential platform outage. If your business is entirely dependent on a single source of orders, a negative change could significantly impact your revenue. 3. Brand Identity - Being exclusively on a third-party platform could make it harder to establish and maintain your own brand identity. Customers might associate your restaurant more with the platform than with your independent identity. Carefully consider you options before signing exclusivity rights !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's what's wrong with the Uber Eats #SuperBowl teaser ad ⤵ All in all, it achieved its intended goal to get people talking - not to mention the fabulous earned media so far ... It's relevant ✅ , humorous ✅ and capitalizes on two celebrities and quotes one of their most recent iconic #BeHonest moment ✅. 🚩 BUT In my work, I am usually very meticulous and I pay attention to the smallest details because they DO make a difference, *especially* at this scale. I couldn't help but notice a few things I would have done differently with this teaser. 👀 It is mostly about how the message could have been conveyed more genuinely and how it was shot. Here we go: 0:05 - David should have just appeared from behind the wall as if he was just hearing Victoria speaking. Instead, he is just standing there (and barely moving throughout the scenes). 0:10 - Victoria is looking straight at the camera saying "David, I'm trying!" when David is clearly behind her. It doesn't evoke the emotion it should. 0:12 is a better shot for this. 0:18 - after saying his line, David should have gone behind the wall so that it connects with Victoria's next shot 0:19 0:19 - otherwise it doesn't make sense for Victoria to look behind and almost shout when David is right there close to her. 0:21 - David should appear again from behind the wall to "continue their conversation" These are just a few fine tweaks that would have made the scene feel more like a genuine interaction. The travel industry is somewhat antiquated, so I would say that it lends itself quite well to constantly challenging us to be innovative and strategic, developing new technologies and techniques, and figuring out how best to leverage newly introduced platforms into our daily workflows and systems. The overall vibe of the community, both on the advisor and supplier sides, is absolutely "community over competition," and I think that stems from just how antiquated everything is or was and how we had to come together to make any type of movement over the past 5–10 years. I think that COVID was a force for good in a way that a lot of smart and motivated people started working "underground" on a lot of projects during that time that are kind of popping their heads up now here and there, and some have been developing nicely over the past few years. I would say that the industry is a completely different one than the one I entered 10 years ago, and that it will be changing even more rapidly than that over the next 2, 5, and so on and so forth. I think that Tern is going to be the biggest and best disruptor that we have seen in a long time, and hopefully once they build an actual booking tool into their system that functions like ADX, we can get rid of the green screen. I have other big plans to move the industry forward, but I think the best part is that everyone is starting to think bigger now and not be complacent, which is never healthy for any industry or business.🌟 I am thrilled to share my latest thoughts on [topic]. Analysts at NOBLE Capital Markets have awarded Travelzoo (NASDAQ:TZOO) an ‘Outperform’ rating after the media commerce company that publishes travel and entertainment offers reported “solid” second quarter earnings. The company posted earnings per share of $0.17 on revenue of $21.1 million for 2Q, up from EPS of $0.08 and revenue of $17.7 million in the year-ago quarter. Noble’s analysts highlighted that the company reported revenue above their estimate of $20.5 million, and its adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) of $4.2 million was above their forecast of $3.4 million. “Revenue growth accelerate to 19% in 2Q, compared with 17% growth in 1Q,” they wrote. The analysts also pointed out Travelzoo (NASDAQ:TZOO)’s strong margins, with its EBITDA margins up to nearly 20% driven in large part by a 27% operating profit margin in the North America business segment.
