The success of any export venture hinges not only on the quality of the product but also on the strategic relationships a company fosters. For businesses aiming to expand into new international markets, establishing strong connections with ambassadors and trade attachés is a crucial precursor to successful entry and sustained growth. Ambassadors and trade attachés play pivotal roles in international trade. Ambassadors, as the highest-ranking diplomats, represent their country’s interests abroad, fostering political, economic, and cultural relations. Trade attachés, on the other hand, are specialized diplomats focused on promoting and facilitating trade between their home country and the host nation. They possess deep insights into local markets, regulatory environments, and business practices, making them invaluable resources for any company looking to export. The Importance of Relationship Building 1) Market Intelligence and Insights: Establishing relationships with these officials provides companies with access to vital market intelligence. Ambassadors and trade attachés can offer insights into market trends, consumer preferences, and potential regulatory challenges. This information is critical for tailoring products and marketing strategies to align with local demands and legal requirements. 2) Navigating Regulatory Landscapes: Each country has its own set of regulations governing imports and exports. Understanding these can be a complex and time-consuming process. Trade attachés can guide businesses through the regulatory maze, ensuring compliance and reducing the risk of costly delays or legal issues. 3) Cultural Competence: Building relationships with local diplomats helps companies gain cultural competence, which is essential for effective communication and negotiation in a new market. This understanding fosters respect and trust, laying the groundwork for fruitful business relationships. 4) Networking Opportunities: Ambassadors and trade attachés can introduce businesses to key local players, including potential partners, distributors, and customers. These introductions can open doors to opportunities that might otherwise be difficult to access, providing a competitive edge in the new market. 5) Support and Advocacy: In times of difficulty or dispute, having the support of local diplomatic officials can be a significant advantage. They can advocate on behalf of the business, providing a layer of protection and assistance that can help resolve issues more efficiently.
Throwback to a memorable visit by the Ambassador of the Dominican Republic, Wellington Darío Bencosme Castaños and Counselor Ana Suero to Creamery Novelties Ltd and Imanex! The visit was led by Paul Gabriel, Director at Creamery Novelties Ltd, and Vashish Sieurajsingh, Export Manager at Creamery Novelties & Imanex. The delegates were given a delightful tour of the facilities, with an exclusive look at our production processes and the chance to sample some of our finest products. One of the great honours of working for Transparency International is that every now and then, I am asked to speak on integrity, transparency and anti-corruption at events organised by some of Iceland's amazing NGOs. Yesterday, I spoke at Humanists Iceland's start of parliament (Alþingi) session. I used the opportunity to call for unity for integrity, transparency and courage. That good people must work together to uphold the rule of law. The speech is in Icelandic and I am afraid Google Translate will miss a few nuances. So if you don't read Icelandic, I can say that the point is simple: policy, not coincidences, is the reason Iceland fails to do enough on anti-corruption. A nonchalant culture that tolerates corruption and excuses it to the point - and further - of implausible! deniability must be admitted and tackled head-on by building strong institutions that amplify good values and act as tethers on hate and unfairness. That unless we feel a burning need to help others, we are not fully human. If you do read Icelandic, feel free to read the speech by clicking the link.

Founder of Maritime EmpowerHer | Driving Innovation, Diversity & Inclusion in SA Maritime Sector | Inspiring Speaker & Panelist | Mentoring next Generation of Female Leaders| WMU Alumni
To WISTA South Africa As a social media influencer with a passion for the maritime industry in South Africa, I've been closely following the updates on WISTA's upcoming conference. While the event promises to be a fantastic opportunity for networking and learning, I've noticed some areas where engagement could be improved. Firstly, there seems to be low engagement on posts related to the conference, which may indicate a need for more interactive content. Additionally, I've observed that there is no direct link provided to the registration page, making it challenging for interested individuals to sign up easily. Here's how I can assist: 1. **Engagement Strategies:** I can offer suggestions on how to create more engaging content, including interactive polls, questions, and discussions related to the conference topics. By sparking conversations and encouraging participation, we can increase excitement and interest among your audience. 2. **Clear Call-to-Action:** I can help implement clear calls-to-action in your posts, directing followers to the registration page. Whether it's adding "Register Now" buttons or swipe-up links in your posts, I'll ensure that it's easy for interested individuals to take action and secure their spot at the conference. 3. **Visual Enhancements:** Leveraging my expertise in creating visually appealing graphics and videos, I can assist in crafting eye-catching content that highlights the key benefits of attending the conference. Visuals play a crucial role in capturing attention and driving engagement on social media platforms. 4. **Sponsored Posts:** I can assist in creating sponsored posts to promote the conference to a wider audience. By partnering with relevant sponsors and leveraging their reach, we can increase visibility and attract more attendees to the event. 5. **Partner Engagement:** I can reach out to potential sponsors and partners, encouraging them to add the event to their websites and social media pages. Collaborating with sponsors to cross-promote the conference will further extend its reach and impact. By collaborating together, we can optimize your social media strategy for the upcoming conference and ensure maximum attendance and engagement. Feel free to reach out if you'd like to discuss further or explore how we can work together to make this conference a resounding success!

BOARD MEMORANDUM JULY 18, 2023 🪐 The scenario ”Brussels by Xmas” was discovered with obstacles set by unwelcome forces. The new scenario will progress slower in order to safequard all Bonafide interests and services for our society. The search-research program will dig deeper into multilateralism, geo-economics and cultural confidence; the three pilars in the initiative ”A MANKIND IN TRANSITION”. We assume at the onset that material flow will not be blocked by unwelcome forces. The time-frame is unrushed making sure that aims can be reached and pitfalls avoided. The right partnering will speed up development, but money is not the issue. We seek likeminded expertise to examine the direction and set aims. For now the focus is on a standard public format. Later e,g. a format for schools would be considered. We wish to thank the City of Rssen for hosting us and Germany for inspiratonal observations. We would opt for closer collaboration of mutual intetest. A new base has not yet been decided but a relocation is imminent. The Board formed a quorum. Essen 18th July, 2023 🇩🇪🇪🇺 Bonafide Co-development SM 🦅
THE BOARD OF BONAFIDE MEET TO SET NEW COURSE • Selection of scenario • Set program • Time frame • Partnerships • Relocation Essen 15th June, 2023 🇩🇪🇪🇺 🦅

Discussing race is inherently political. In Aotearoa NZ, conversations about race necessitate conversations about Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Here are some of the words I've heard recently. These are resonating for me in advance of the Toitū Te Tiriti Activation Day tomorrow. I offer these with humility and for your own consideration. 🌿 With respect to participating tomorrow or not, make a responsible decision...a mokopuna decision. 🌿 Māori are not in a transactional relationship with the government, we are in a transformative situation-ship. 🌿 When the tide rises, we must all rise. Like a rewana. Because we are "bred" differently. (This one made me giggle). 🌿 For the government to assume that they can repeal legislation after legislation; and take Te Tiriti out of legislation is wrong. Tomorrow is about sending a clear message not to do that. 🌿 Making mokopuna decisions means we need to activate on all fronts. We can do that because we are magic. Wishing us all deep breaths, loads of courage, and the ability to move in to action with informed perspective, creative brilliance and a mana-enhancing commitment to ourselves and one another. At the very least, navigating the troubled waters of ongoing, systemic, treaty injustice demands integrity, care and compassion. Mauri ora ki a tātou! [Image is of a whakataukī card that comes from a pack of cards sitting on my desk. It reads, 'Waiho i te toipoto, kaua i te toiroa' which can translate to, 'Let us keep close together, not far apart'].
