Yesterday marked a significant milestone for me as one of the inaugural 50 employees at Micron Semiconductor Technology India, as I participated in the enlightening Micron Values Navigator Workshop.
This workshop provided a firsthand immersion into the values and culture that distinguish Micron, elevating it beyond being just a great workplace to a company poised to lead the charge in semiconductor manufacturing in India.
Throughout the session, influential leaders like Moorthy Murugaiah, Senior Director of Global Human Resources Operations, and Bhaskaran Ravi, Director of Module Operations, shared compelling anecdotes that resonated and sparked a transformative shift in mindset. Among my personal favorites were:
1. In a job, at the end of the month, one is paid to learn. On the other hand, in schools and universities, one pays to learn.
2. Your competition can and will overtake you in certain areas of competency, and you might overtake them, and this cycle continues. However, what cannot be replicated is culture.
3. Strive to reach excellence in your role and beyond at the organization, and the organization will take care of you.
The workshop also facilitated personal interactions with leaders such as Gursharan Singh, Senior Vice President of Global Back-End Operations, who individually engaged with each pioneer hire to understand how Micron could enhance its efficiency in achieving its goals in India. Gursh further detailed Micron's pivotal role and plans to collaboratively shape the next generation of semiconductor professionals alongside higher education institutes in India.
The amazing team of Asha Menon, People Development Leader, and Anthony Marsheal F., People Development Manager at Micron, seamlessly sustained the workshop's momentum and energy, contributing to an overall extraordinary and enriching experience.

It's undeniable: India's semiconductor landscape is set to undergo a remarkable transformation. 🌐🚀 Tata Group's latest talent hunt in Taiwan bears testimony to this. So, what's up?
Tata Group is handpicking top Taiwanese talent geared for semiconductor manufacturing. They're looking for experienced \(5 to 16 years\) professionals, from equipment engineers to automation experts to yield engineers. 🛠️💡
Why, you ask? Their aim? To set up a wafer fab and an ATMP facility in India, thus accelerating its semiconductor ambitions. Quite the ambitious plan, one must say! 🏭
But it's not all work, work, work. The selected professionals will get 18 months of training in Taiwan before they set foot in India. The roadshow, in fact, is scheduled for April 13, 2024. 📅👨🔬
Bold moves, ambitious plans, and a potentially game-changing industry disruption – what are your thoughts? Does this signal a seismic shift in India's semiconductor world? Professionals in the industry, I'd love to hear your insights!

Grateful for an Inspiring Conversation with Sanjay Mehrotra
Today, I had the privilege of connecting with Sanjay Mehrotra , the visionary leader at the helm of Micron Technology. Our conversation was truly enlightening, and I'm excited to share some key insights that left a lasting impact on me.
I asked, What inspired him to start his journey in the memory Industry? What is that moment for which he feels whatever happened, happened for a reason?
And his answer was,
"Interesting question!!
My visa got rejected three times when I was going for the first time to the US. After a lot of struggle, we got a chance to connect with the embassy. My father, who is my first mentor and manager, tried hard to convince them, and then at last we got a Visa, I hugged my Father, and then finally got into the University of California, Berkeley.
And today, when I look back, it all looks like whatever happens happens for a reason.
In my Final year, I was looking for Jobs, applying, and roaming here and there. My professor at Berkeley suggested to choose Memory design, and I started working,
And the rest is History!!"
This response was nothing short of brilliance and has given me a fresh perspective on the career path that I have chosen.
As the leader of Micron Technology, Sanjay Mehrotra exemplifies a dedication to innovation, a relentless pursuit of excellence, and a genuine commitment to people.
I'm truly inspired by his passion for the semiconductor industry, and it reaffirms my belief in the power of transformative leadership.
What a Humble Person he is🙌

2 years into my current position at Micron Technology
Here is just few things to brace yourself with since semiconductors is one of the world's most complex industries right now
1. Fast paced - you will need to be able to feedback on time & always think ahead 🧠 overthinking ia a blessing in disguise
2. Cross collaboration - this is very crucial in order to find common ground & also this is one of the fundamental in our daily task, we have to to convince & align 💪🏻
3. Keep your Mentor Close - i am very fortunate to have find very good leadership example from MMY. it's always a privileged to see how they continue demonstrate good example on the "battlefield" 🫡
4. Analytical skills - you know, you need to be curious, almost always. so you can continue feed your analytical mind. we need play with a lot of data everyday ✨️
last but not least, the skills that not everyone posses & what i am currently struggling with is networking to build good rapport. i still have a lot to figure out on my journey but i am confident that with current leadership that we have, we can do it!

Despite recent skepticism about TSMC's plan to set up a factory in #Germany in light of the country's budget crisis, the firm has stated that it has not aborted this project. Challenges facing the company include the high energy prices in Germany, cultural differences, disputes about German governmental subsidies, labor shortages, and strong union presence in Germany. #semiconductor#talent
Addressing the human resource issues, TSMC has opened up internship opportunities to non-science majors in Taiwan.
In fact, TSMC is proceeding with its German factory preparation, including appointing senior staff for deployment. #Supplychain sources also noted that they have not been notified of any cancellation of the expansion plan in Germany.

Intel Corporation has carved out India from the Asia-Pacific and made it a separate region.
I predict more multinationals will follow suit and treat India as a separate region. Makes sense.
1. Big large economy
2. Consumption on the rise
3. Predictable business environment.
What are your thoughts?
