This is a short post, post Cannes, to give some air and thanks to the people that made it special in the last week. I’ll elaborate offline, but for now… ✨Nafissa Norris (née Jeetoo) and Jake Dubbins from Conscious Advertising Network who responded to my unfortunate last min panic request for a room after I was cancelled hours earlier by Booking.com (this is a ‘news’ feature scandal that will eventually be written) Steve Mchenry Garrett O'Reilly and Natalie Bell who delivered on the extra couple of days that were needed, the industry at its best. THANK YOU. Evolve OOH and the captain Robin Hall and the terrific team for two exceptional evenings. I love my OOH partners. And then there’s the two Dom’s, Dominic Williams for the most thought provoking session and lunch. And Dominic Carter for probably the most talked about/topical Cannes experience. Plus team Owen Griffiths and Caroline Tredget for the whole experience. Gemma Greaves and Dan Cresta plus their whole wonderful guest and sponsors, that is the one lunch I’m reserving as always for the year ahead (if I’m invited x). Finally I was proud to be part of the teams that saw amazing presence and representation for The Marketing Society Conscious Advertising Network and Brixton Finishing School The presence and need to be there was calpable, and Cannes was enriched in so many ways because of it. Cannes for me was the best yet, despite the sandy rain, it was energetic diverse, inclusive and radient. Simon Cook hats off, there’s too much to say in a short post. My last word is, let’s turn all the positive talk about climate and sustainability into real action. This isn’t an agenda item I want to see grow in the years to come, but sadly, it looks like it may. After the rosé comes the…what, get your energy back and let’s act on the things most necessary.

Oh man, I’ve had the Booking dot com last minute cancel thing with Cannes in the past too. Glad you had good friends there to sort it for you. There’s a local apartment rental agency by Palm Beach (Baoli end of the Croisette) who I’ve found to be fairly reliable, if you need to book an apartment next year, I’ll happily send you the deets.

So sorry to hear of your cancellation by Booking.com - their service is shocking. As a partner I’ve yet to get paid for guests I hosted 2 months ago. I’ve never dealt with bigger incompetence in my life.
