TC Energy’s James Yardley kicked off the Reuters Energy Transition North America conference this morning with a keynote focusing on sustainable energy policy and investment that must focus on addition rather than subtraction. “As we think through how the energy transition should play out, it is critically important that it progress in an orderly fashion. Many forms of energy will be required to support a growing global population and developing world,” he said. “Natural gas will play a significant role in any likely scenario via continuing to both displace higher emitting sources of energy as well as partnering with intermittent renewables, each of which will be critical to reducing global emissions.” #EnergyTransition #EnergyAddition #Energy #EnergyNews #NaturalGas #LNG #Sustainability #ETNA2023

🌬️ The United Kingdom stands at the forefront of offshore wind energy, with an impressive capacity of 14GW, the world's second-largest. This remarkable achievement already accounts for approximately 13% of the nation's annual electricity consumption, and there are ambitious plans to triple this capacity by 2030. 🇬🇧⚡ This video captures parts of yesterday's discussion with the Energy Security and Net Zero Committee, where challenges that come with this rapid growth, including Contracts for Difference (CfDs), were examined. For a more detailed exploration of these challenges, we've provided more details on Calash's page. 📈💨 But what about the untapped potential of hydrogen? 🤔 Harnessing surplus power during off-peak hours to produce green hydrogen through electrolysis is gaining momentum in the energy sector. Companies like Advanced Ionics, Ohmium, and Hysata are at the forefront of advancing electrolyzer technologies, making green hydrogen more cost-effective. 🌱💧 This ignites a compelling dialogue about establishing a mutually beneficial relationship between offshore wind and green hydrogen. It's a dynamic method to store excess power, ensuring an uninterrupted energy supply without straining the grid during low-demand periods. This represents a significant stride towards a cleaner, more harmonious energy future. 🔄🌞 Such developments would allow the transformation of gas or coal power stations into energy balancers rather than primary producers. It's an inspiring vision that propels the United Kingdom and other nations closer to their net-zero objectives, at an accelerated pace. 🚀🌍 For a comprehensive examination of these topics, visit the Calash webpage for more profound insights. Join us in steering the discourse on a sustainable energy future! 💬✅ #RenewableEnergy #GreenHydrogen #OffshoreWind #NetZero #SustainableFuture #Innovation

There is no time for business as usual. The world must swiftly transition to renewable energy and electrified transport to prevent devastating temperature increases. The below illustration highlights the rapid pace and significant scale of the transformation required. We must move away from the 'business as usual' scenario, which involves continued high investment in coal, oil, and gas and ever-growing global CO2 emissions. Instead, replacing fossil fuels with renewable energy can help bend the curve. Our batteries will be used in energy storage systems that support wind and solar installations and electric vehicles. This will help avoid large amounts of carbon dioxide emissions and contribute to solving the climate crisis. This is our #mission2morrow

This graph from the IEA World Energy Outlook, shared by Morrow Batteries reminds us about the need for decarbonisation and how quickly we need to do it to stay within the 1.5 degree target. All of us working in the battery industry have a key part to play in this and we must keep pushing electrification and renewable energy targets. #battery #electrification #renewable #energy #decarbonisation #sustainability #target #2050

Unfortunately, we cannot go 100% #electric and reduce #carbonemissions to net zero overnight. What we can do is slowly progress into utilizing #environmentallyfriendly energy sources by using the "there is only one way to eat an elephant: one bite at a time" approach. Electricity from the grid or from renewable sources such as wind, solar, geothermal, or biomass can be used to produce #hydrogen. Hydrogen doesn’t produce carbon emissions when burned which is exactly what has hydrogen becoming the clean #energy solution for cars, power generation, and steel manufacturing.
