Why Purple Shoots does what it does...watch this from our CEO Karen Davies... But, the reality of supporting these small businesses is proving harder and harder for us... Since the start of February 2024, we have had enquiries totalling £116,308. To many that's a drop in the ocean, a second of trading, a single enquiry...but to us, that represents 27 people and businesses who, targeting positive change in their own lives and communities, want to make a difference! What is more, 16 of these enquiries come from postcodes in areas who are determined to be within 40% most deprived communities in the United Kingdom. While some of these enquiries may not result in a need for finance, each person is talking to us, outlining their dreams and ambitions and seeing what we can do to help. We're seeing established businesses come to us for support as well. We're having referrals with people who have glowing credit profiles and yet have been rejected everywhere else they have gone! To service these loans and continue to meet this surge in demand, we need help! We need investment from investors who worry less about financial gain, and more about societal and community benefit and growth! We can't offer significant financial return on investment, we're a charity, but what we can offer is knowledge that your money has been put to effective use...effective use helping people escape the benefits trap, helping people take a second chance in life that so many have told them they can't have and genuinely boosting local communities with flourishing independent business! Lawyers, want to have a truly productive Memorial Day Weekend? DON'T TAKE WORK HOME (and no emails)! If you don't believe that our best ideas often come when we are far removed from work, why not try it this Memorial Day Weekend? (Worst case you will have fun)   Our brains need time to relax and recover. Too much stress thwarts progress and creativity.   (We also need time with family, friends, to play, to laugh, to be ourselves without our lawyer suits!) Enjoy! (And don't ask me why the guy is holding a bat. Trying to get the "art department" to draw a racially diverse group of male and female lawyers is fraught with problems and the first dozen or so had the women in bikinis!*&^ and I want to start my weekend!)

Breaking Barriers and Uniting Communities: Rito's Journey 🤝 I had the incredible opportunity to sit down with Rito Ramirez and let me tell you, his journey is nothing short of inspiring. 🙌 Every second of this event is a testament to his drive and ambition, but what fueled it all? Let me take you back to the beginning. Imagine him, the guy with no tattoos, walking into tattoo shops and inviting them to join this convention. People thought he was crazy! Even got kicked out of more tattoo shops than he can count. The stories are wild! 💉 But here's the most beautiful part: with sheer determination and persistence, he managed to get those shop owners to listen. Rito kept going back, shop after shop, and finally, they began to listen. The real magic happened when he brought these owners together, ones who'd never spoken before. We're talking about competing shops here! Once they met and realized the power of unity, it was a game-changer. They broke down that old "You're my competitor" mentality and realized that together, we're stronger than apart. 🤜🤛 This, my friends, is a story worth sharing.
