"Get Ready for 2024: UX Design Trends You Can’t Ignore" 📱
Coming into 2024, I was looking forward to how the UX industry adapts to the new year. And the year hasn't disappointed. As we are halfway through 2024, I sat down and thought about what's been trending lately.
Automation:
AI has influenced UX as much as any other field as of late. It is instrumental in decreasing our hard work but at the same time reducing the demand for designers in certain markets. The supply of designers is way more than the demand which leads to an uncertain market. This is what 2024 has been about.
Personalization:
The newer developments in personalizing a design for users rather than generating vague ones have been a breath of fresh air. One example is Spotify which can analyse much larger volumes of data that go beyond user listening history. It can also evaluate contextual factors such as time of day, location, what device is being used, and even what mood the user is in.
Emotional Design:
Recently, designers have openly embraced human psychology and integrated it into their designs to connect with their users on an emotional level. In the future, emotional design will surely become a key differentiator between a good designer and a great one.
Updated Research:
AI is automating many aspects of the UX design process while emphasizing the value of inherently human skills such as strategic thinking and problem-solving. If you want to excel in the industry, focus on improving and applying your research and critical thinking skills for more strategic, user-centric innovation.
3D Designing:
Being in UX for 20 years, I'll be the first to admit that 3D isn't anything new, but look how far it has evolved this year- from web design applications to newer elements like glass morphism.
Newer Design Choices:
Just taking a look at the newer trendy designs of the year so far, I can make out a lot of fresh stuff. Countless designs are touching up on a minimalist approach to web design, but at the same time, there are advanced designs making use of stuff like Augmented Reality, the Parallax Effect, Glassmorphism Gradients, and whatnot. Designers have been given the liberty to choose their vibes and that has given rise to cooler and attractive design trends.
These are entirely my thoughts, but I'd love to hear you out! How do you think you're navigating this 2024 landscape and what are some newer things that you've seen this year?
