The emphasis on sustainability at the 2024 #Dow Business #Sustainability #Summit highlights a critical intersection of industry leadership and environmental stewardship. Data from the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (#SDGs) shows that sustainable practices are not just ethically necessary but also economically beneficial. For instance, businesses focusing on sustainability have seen a 7.7% #higher #return on #assets and a 6% #higher #return on #equity compared to their non-sustainable counterparts (Harvard Business Review, 2020). Furthermore, consumer demand for sustainable products is projected to increase by 34% over the next five years (Nielsen, 2021). Integrating sustainability into business models is no longer optional but #essential for meeting future consumer demands and ensuring long-term profitability.
