'Random Coffees' 🤔 What are they? Did you actually go on one - this photo looks somewhat edited 😅 Today, I got to have a Random Coffee with my colleague Mike Davies. We took 30 minutes away from the office to talk. We spoke mostly about running - Mike knows lots and I had a load of questions (Fartlek? 'Kenyan Hills'? Marginal gains? The six World Marathon Majors?) - and our time as Employee Trustees at Stephens Scown having served our terms at different times in our Employee Ownership journey. I forgot to take a photo because the conversation was so good, so Mike was happy to pose in the office instead 📷 Being able to step away from the office environment to get to know our colleagues more personally (and professionally but with less of a service delivery focus) is so beneficial to our ongoing professional relationship. We're all humans, and being to engage with someone on a human level, not just on a service-provision level, helps us to build trust with them and feel more personally fulfilled through the work we do together. I think Random Coffees are a great initiative from my business. In the last few months I've also had them with Karen Stamp, Isabella Kershaw and Kia Pearson 👋 Do others get similar opportunities encouraged by their businesses? What is your version of our Random Coffee? 🤔 #Teamwork #Culture #EmployeeOwnership

Executive and Administrative Assistant Trainer, Founder and CEO, Author, Speaker, and Coach at Office Dynamics International
Several years ago, we started a new tradition at Office Dynamics International. Being that this was Delani Denton's first year on the team, she had to experience her initiation. Her response was priceless! Although this was something we did as a joke and to make her laugh, it brings up an important concept. Well, a few actually: • Creating moments and memories like these are powerful for your team's morale and promotes a positive company culture. • Having company traditions creates a sense of distinction and belonging. This is why major sports teams have their own traditions to grow the camaraderie. • Surprises are extra powerful; make sure your team member isn't expecting them, and it will strengthen the impact of the moment. I know, I am being an educator, but I had to take this fun moment and explain my thoughts. As executive and administrative assistants, go the extra mile and think of ways you can do the same within your own organizations. And yes, Delani still has most of her desk items wrapped. Understandably, she did have to unwrap the keyboard and mouse.

Giddy up for a company offsite in the Rockies! Propeller had a blast at our offsite in Estes Park last weekend. It was the perfect opportunity to recharge and reconnect outside of work. Here are just a few of the benefits of company offsites: 🌲Improved communication and collaboration: When we're outside of our usual work environment, we're more open to new ideas and perspectives. This can lead to better communication and collaboration within the team. 🌲Increased trust and camaraderie: When we spend time together in a social setting, we get to know each other on a more personal level. This can help to build trust and camaraderie within the team. 🌲Boosted morale and productivity: Company offsites can be a lot of fun, and they can help to boost morale and productivity. When we're feeling happy and refreshed, we're more likely to be productive at work. Company offsites are so important for team building. They allow us to get to know each other more personally, build trust, and collaborate in new and creative ways. What do you do to build your team? Shout out to my cornhole partners (Michael Macias, MBA & Kaleigh Schermer), the horseback riding crew (Cameron Simmons, MS = best dressed 🤠 ), and the short (high intensity) hiking team 🏔. Special thanks to the planning committee. ❤️ #teambuilding #companyculture #peoplefirst

"The culture at Bird & Bird is really great – this helped me hugely to understand the importance of underlying principles when setting up my own business and the value of it reflecting real life". We love this quote from Tobi Olujinmi in the latest series of #AlumniStories from Bird & Bird International Law Firm. Drawing parallels, we see that comprehending work relationships mirrors understanding the dynamics of the world itself. Like the intricate threads of culture, relationships and finding one's place in the world, the way an organization treats its people sends ripples far beyond the confines of the workplace. Bird & Bird serves as an example of how a company can not only maintain but also nurture relationships, turning them into bonds that extend well beyond the parameters of the working world. Colleagues become more than just professional associates; they become children's godparents, best friends, trusted advisors and much more. https://lnkd.in/gmFS9NHD
