Reinventing services and organisations, moving beyond traditional ways of working. Leading and empowering new ways of working.
What a great example of stripping out the unnecessary steps, and focusing on value. All led by the person and what matters to them. As I was listening, I realised that this is how it used to work before New Public Management got in the way! The practitioner would: 1. Have enough time to understand what matters to a person. 2. Decide who the person should see. 3. She that person to the next practitioner. 4. Each practitioner would decide there end then when they should see them next. Listen and understand what matters with the person. No standard assessments Manage risk rather than risk avoidance. Decide the next steps with the person.
Thanks New Local for brilliantly hosting a webinar about our Community Appointment Days with Laura Finucane and Natalie Blunt. It was great to see so much interest from all over the country about where the idea came from, how they are run and what makes them tick. Loads of questions in the chat all the way through and heart-warmingly - people sharing their experience of trialling CADs in their areas. This is one of the best examples of community collaboration I can think of in recent years.
Congrats to everyone involved. Great to see the announcement took place onsite at the Kindle permanent supportive housing project. Kudos to partners like Skyline Group of Companies, Stonehenge Therapeutic Community, and Guelph Community Health Centre, for continuing to exemplify the power of innovative, collaborative partnership. #Guelph #Business #Community #housing #bettercantwait. https://lnkd.in/gC3JKUmj

This year's artwork was created by local San Jose artist, Rayos Magos. He brought our vision to life while showcasing many of our shared values including a commitment to social justice, housing as a human right, and being rooted in community. AHM is the time to bring people together so that we can all transform our communities into more diverse, affordable, equitable, and accessible places to live — which brings us to this year’s theme of #4Us4You4All, recognizing that our well-being is tied to the well-being of our neighbors. In 2024, we are leading a transformational region-wide bond measure that works towards housing for everyone in our community. This year is about moving housing affordability beyond the creation of affordable homes for individuals to the realization of stable neighborhoods for whole communities – a vision going beyond housing as a human right to one of healing and restoration for us, for you, and for all. That is why during this year’s Affordable Housing Month, we will be lifting up local partner programming to demonstrate the breadth and depth of the affordable housing ecosystem in Santa Clara County and the strength of our collective work. The future we envision for the Bay Area begins with us. #affordablehousingmonth #ahm2024 #forusforyouforall #affordablehousing #housingjustice

Exciting news!! The BFCOG is currently in the process of developing a Benton-Franklin Regional Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Action Plan! The plan will be utilized to identify SAFE, EASY, & FUN routes for children and parents that walk or roll to school throughout our region. The BFCOG is requesting that community members actively participate throughout the development process of this plan, as it helps us and a key stakeholders understand current travel methods, current travel barriers, and incorporate recommendations made for areas that may need improvement. Earlier this year, TACSI partnered with South West Hospital and Health Service to improve community wellbeing in South West Queensland. The goal was to co-design a roadmap for care that was informed by peer-to-peer relationships and championed a community-led approach. We started with three big questions: 👉 What could enhanced community-based and community-led wellbeing in the South West look like? 👉 What role could co-design and co-production play as we evolve the way we work with communities and partners? 👉 What might new, creative and long-term partnerships look and feel like? These questions became the foundation of the three seeds that this project was planted from. Find out what grew from them here: https://lnkd.in/gGmS8a6E
