Is it too early to call time on ‘agile’’? A process for developing novel software and tech solutions has become a management fetish over the past 5 years and in this guise it has destroyed productivity, accountability, decisiveness, and leadership. Leaving businesses in endless rounds of two week sprints that fail to deliver effective outcomes. Agile has become a toxic force in business just when we need real vision, imagination, decision making and leadership if we are to find growth.

What a great LeadCoffee session today in the Management 3.0 #community! 💙 . Two very interesting and actual topics: 1. How to 'marry up' product agile development and the requirements of a matrix organization? - matrix organizations can be really challenging: hybrid work, different teams, cultures, different challenges and goals, but still "in the same boat" - how to adapt and how to apply the agile methodologies in a complex context, with demanding market, customers and stakeholders - how communication and transparency are key in any change - manage the system and create the space where people can come together and co-create, be part of the change - take responsibility and be an agent of change. 2. Scrum or Kanban on Start-up initiation? - define scope and perspective - analyze and status - check team maturity (Forming |Storming | Norming | Performing | Adjourning - https://lnkd.in/dkw9y_C5) - maybe in a forming phase Kanban makes more sense and when the team reach a respective maturity, Scrum can be adapted and grow into it. Confrontation 😖 is not inherently 'BAD,' rather it is the way we interact with confrontation that decides if it is GOOD or BAD. Often it is in HOW we confront that dictates a positive or negative experience. If I start a conversation pointing my fingers and blame at you in order to confront you about something. Low chances that you will be able to receive my confrontation. I have set myself up at odds with you from the start. If you confront me about something and I feel 'poked' my reaction might be to be hurt- regardless of how you present it to me. It is easy to move from hurt to defensive and at odds with you. Often these emotions are linked to some other experience rather than the confrontation itself. I have been in many discussions lately and contemplated the question below many times. So to expand and evolve my thoughts, I wish to throw it out to a broader audience, and would like to read what you have to say regarding the below question. Is Agile; progressing forward incrementally, improving through learnings, and generating more focus on quality and customers, or is it decaying towards a slow death due to implementation before comprehension, a lack of values and principles being present culturally, and protection of status quo processes? I look forward to reading your contributions.

Scrumundrum: predictable and adaptable? Can't they just get along? In our complex corporate jungles, is it possible to both predictably produce output and reliably enable valuable outcomes, all while adaptively responding to change? Motivated teams manage great products when adaptively and creatively in pursuit of audacious goals enabling meaningful outcomes. At the same time, probabilistic forecasting can help to inspect the expectation-reality gaps. A lot of discourse revolves around the paradigms of predictability and adaptability. What's your take?
