Manager, Continuous Improvement @ Panasonic | Servant Leader | Army Veteran | S.T.A.R (Skilled Through Alternative Routes) |
Feeling a bit of imposter syndrome as a people manager? You're not alone. Every day, I navigate the challenges and rewards of building something from nothing. Leading a team that I've handpicked at an organization that I truly believe in has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my career. My goal is to offer the servant leadership I always wished I had: creating an environment of emotional security where my team can be their natural selves. Watching each team member grow and thrive is incredibly rewarding. To everyone feeling a bit out of their depth: keep pushing forward. The impact you have on your team and the work you create together is worth it. #Leadership #ServantLeadership #ImposterSyndrome #TeamBuilding #EmotionalSecurity #CareerGrowth

As a Leader, always cheer on your team’s victories, even if you were the key player. Take responsibility when things don’t go as planned, even if it wasn’t your mistake. By doing this, you trade a quick pat on the back for a rock-solid reputation that lasts. #leadershipmindset #ownership #leadingwithexample

Helping quiet leaders, and those who lead them, raise their voices, share their ideas, and contribute in ways that lead to success – for themselves and their organizations. Executive & Leadership Coach | Speaker | Author
Did you know that most people applying for a promotion don’t have all the experience listed? If you did, you’d already be doing that job and ready to move on to something new! When you consider whether you’re ready for a more challenging role, ask yourself what excites you about the role. Give more weight to these because they motivate you. Where is your growth edge and what are you already learning which will support you? Make an inventory of your accomplishments – big and small. Notice which can “scale up” to support the new role. Most importantly: Trust yourself. You have what it takes! #EmergingLeaders #Introverts #Leadership #RisingLeaders #StepUpAndStandOut

I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to attend the Outward Leadership training with the The Arbinger Institute. 🤯 This experience has been truly transformative, both personally and professionally. The Outward Mindset shift has challenged me to see others – colleagues, clients, even strangers – with fresh eyes. It's about recognizing the shared humanity in everyone we encounter and approaching challenges with a collaborative spirit. 🙌 A few key takeaways that have already made a difference: Deeper Connections: Building stronger, more authentic relationships based on understanding and empathy. Proactive Problem-Solving: Moving beyond blame and focusing on solutions we can create together. Increased Self-Awareness: Recognizing how my own mindset impacts my interactions and results. Thank you, McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. for investing in my growth and empowering me to become not just a better leader, but a better person. I'm excited to apply these principles and continue evolving my outward mindset! Mike Rener, thank you for being such an awesome facilitator! #OutwardMindset #LeadershipDevelopment #ArbingerInstitute #Gratitude #McCarthy

𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻? It’s time to put yourself out there! But how? Frequently talking about your accomplishments makes you appear capable, yet boastful. While deflecting credit makes you feel approachable but less competent. 🤩 Do both instead through dual promotion! Dual promotion is a pairing of a self-promotional statement that highlights or compliments someone else. (source: HBR) For example, praise your colleague’s work before you mention your own. Then focus on yourself. Share your meaningful achievements and claim the credit you deserve. Remember to keep your compliments of others genuine and specific. We don’t want to seem fake. 🗓️This past week has been a whirlwind of leadership and collaboration! I had the privilege of leading not one, but two meetings, and I’m thrilled to share the success of the most recent one. 🥇First, I tackled the challenge of coordinating schedules and finding the perfect date and time for all participants. It’s all about teamwork, and we made it happen! 📚 Then came the preparation phase - hours of research, learning new skills, and valuable insights from someone who’s been there before. Continuous improvement is key, and I’m always up for the challenge. 🙌 The result? A highly effective meeting that not only met our objectives but also left everyone energized. I’m incredibly grateful for the compliments received, and I’m proud of our team’s achievements. 💪 This experience has reminded me that success is a collective effort, and I’m excited for what’s next on the horizon. Let’s keep pushing the boundaries and achieving great things together! 💼 #Leadership #MeetingManagement #Teamwork #ProfessionalGrowth #ProfessionalDevelopment #Ilovemyjob

Happy #monday! Today, I wanted to talk about getting #promoted at work, and share with you some things you should be aware of before accepting the role. 1) Be aware of the #PeterPrinciple - the principle that members of a hierarchy are promoted until they reach the level at which they are no longer competent. 🕴 2) Recognise the scale of your #careertransition and #upskill accordingly 🏫 3) Hold #Leadership accountable to set you up for #success 🌟 What else should we keep in mind when considering a promotion? Morning Cup | Responsibiilty Taking responsibility does not mean ensuring failure cannot occur. Taking responsibility also does not mean you directly complete every aspect of a task. The act of taking responsibility is a process of identifying what is within your control, as well as what is beyond it. As a leader, a sneaky habit can form around taking responsibility for things that are not yours in order to avoid discomfort for others. This is well-intentioned, but leads to long-term breakdowns. Taking responsibility as a leader is often less about doing something and more about establishing expectations, accountability, and boundaries. #distillyourgenius #thoughtfulleadership
