Compliance with aviation regulations plays a pivotal role in determining the time to market for emerging technologies in the Advanced Air Mobility market. In the case of PAL-V, the Liberty is designed in compliance with existing regulations for both aviation and the road, whereas eVTOL regulations have not yet been finalized by the European and US aviation authorities. Aviation regulations are a catalyst for innovation. As we near the actual operational phase of eVTOL it will be imperative to ensure the infrastructure, i.e. Vertiports, is ready to accomodate this new entrant. Additionally, and just as important, is the airspace and procedural development to accomodate a safe and successful scaled operational model, that does not degrade the existing environment.

eVTOL is all the rage now. Can it Keep up the momentum? Will it be a viable travel option for any but the wealthy? Dallas Fort Worth International (DFW) and Overair, a developer of advanced electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, have reached a memorandum of understanding to cooperatively explore the future of vertiport development and eVTOL aircraft operations within the DFW Metroplex.     The agreement will create a joint, cross-functional working group to explore the policies and infrastructure needed to implement an integrated, sustainable eVTOL program at DFW in the future. The working group will also investigate the operational procedures, including approach, landing, taxiing, charging, loading and unloading passengers, takeoff, departure and safety protocols required for such a program.   "DFW Airport has a long history of building the groundwork today for the airport needs of the future,” said DFW Executive Vice President, Innovation, Paul Puopolo. “By exploring the future of aviation now, we will help better position the entire DFW Metroplex for the next era of innovative air mobility.” #airports #aviation #airtravel #evtol

In my capstone at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, we did consider the current infrastructure in São Paulo City for the use of EVTOL aircraft, that is the easiest solution. As the article below says, the natural way for the EVTOL implementation will be by the current Air Charters Operators (or Air Taxis), but I would say that, in addition to those players, airlines also would be in the game, looking for Carbon Credits compensation. #airtaxi #vtol https://lnkd.in/djxXMG5p

The rise of urban air mobility inches closer. With both Archer Aviation and Joby Aviation up some 200% YTD, are we getting those flying taxis anytime soon?
