🛩 Check out Electra.aero's EL-2 Goldfinch technology demonstrator aircraft on the cover of today's Aviation Week Network magazine! 👉 BIG NEWS ALERT!! ⚡ We successfully flew our first full #eSTOL test flight last week, proving that our hybrid eSTOL aircraft can take off and land in a 100x300 ft space. Stay tuned for more details and a video of that flight SOON! Thanks to Aviation Week for sharing our progress, as well as a fun interview with test pilot Cody Allee on what it's like to fly the Goldfinch. Congratulations to the team! A cautionary note, and an endorsement: In the early 2000s, the concept of the Very Light Jet (VLJ) and supporting business concept of rapidly dispatched, on demand aircraft brought me to two entrants in that market, based in large part on similar media coverage and a strong desire to be part of a game changer. The realities of causing that value proposition to be successful ran headlong into both macro-economic and regulatory realities. The endorsement is that John and his team at Aurora developed a team with absolutely brilliant technologies bolstered by solid Program Management and structural business processes. If there were a team that could be successful, this is it.
Probably the ONLY electric S/VTOL that will succeed
Congrats Electra team. Keep up the good, great work. wishing many level flights and smooth landings.
not the future, more the here and now.
Congrats to Electra.aero for making “the cover of the Rolling Stone”!
👍
Congratulations to the entire Electra Aero team on a significant accomplishment!
Cool technology & engineering. Proud of my big brother the test pilot, Cody Allee!
To the question... "Is This the Future of Aviation?" I think the answer is "This is where the future begins..." Big congrats to the Electra.aero team. John Langford, JP Stewart, Marc Ausman. Indeed the future of aviation will be built on the foundation that hybrid electric establishes.
