🌟 The six months since I left Sky have flown by. Ah, the puzzled looks, the “why’s” as I bade farewell to the glitter and glitz of Sky for... a packing manufacturer. I surprised myself with this move after 20 years in TV! 12 of those at Sky, but “all that glitters is not gold”, and “never judge a book by its cover” 📺💼 🌍 Ardagh Group is not “just”, or rather is more than just, a packaging manufacturer. They are a global supplier of sustainable, infinitely recyclable metal and glass packaging for brand owners around the world. Twenty thousand people across 62 production facilities in 16 countries united by a clear purpose “We make packaging for good” – and this ethos extends beyond the mere recyclability of our products; it encompasses a commitment to supporting and investing in the future of our communities; initiatives range from a global STEM education program to impactful Community Involvement Projects at each operational site. Ardagh has set ambitious targets for CO2 reduction and is actively addressing sustainability challenges such as climate change, water stewardship and responsible sourcing. 🌿🌐 🚀 And the role – establishing Operational Resilience and designing and building a new Technology and Cyber Resilience function for the company; setting requirements and activities for how we prepare, respond to and recover from disruption, defining a new Cyber Crisis Response structure, training and exercising our, newly formed, crisis teams and a whole lot more keeping me busy busy…💻🛡️ 🎉 There was an adjustment period with the two-fold challenge of stepping out of Sky and diving headfirst into a whole new industry, new culture; times of ambiguity and challenge. But I’ve had the freedom as a trusted SME empowered to make things happen, have built a new network in Ardagh and expanded my external support network. 🌟 Recognizing it was time to leap out of the familiar, into the unknown was scary, but exhilarating. Landing somewhere that’s both challenging and energizing, with so much to learn and do, has given me a renewed sense of purpose, energy and passion. And the icing on the cake, putting in place what I need for better work-life balance, and it’s been a joy seeing my daughter reap the benefit of a more present parent. What better ‘why’ could there be. 👩👧💪🔥 #ArdaghGroup #sustainability #TakeTheLeap #balance #WomenInTechnology #Resilience

‘Clean’ – the new TrueColors is here. The concept of ‘clean’ generally refers to a state of being free from dirt, impurities, or unwanted elements. Clean is also associated with notions of order, purity, and hygiene. Applied to environmental or ethical values, ‘clean’ is loaded with even more weight. It has a sort of binary side to it. One, zero, done. A glass is either clean or dirty. All or nothing? Our topic is considerably more nuanced in environmental, moral or ethical context. Doing the right thing is more important than ever. So, it’s a good thing when companies embrace the journey to clean up their act – operate fairer, strive for transparency and accountability – despite, or maybe because in doing so, they become vulnerable and open themselves up for public scrutiny. So, the word ‘clean’ is indeed complicated. The companies we feature in this issue take on the challenge of acting clean with expertise, wit, and attitude: Dyson, Oatly, Apple, Holmen Iggesund, Albéa Group. TrueColors – the magazine from GMG. Over the past 5 quarters, our team worked on to reduce packaging damage and we've successfully lowered the damage rate from X% to Y%. Key Strategies: - DMAIC Methodology: We used the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control framework to systematically identify and address the root causes of packaging damage. - Cross-Department Collaboration: By fostering strong cooperation across various departments, we leveraged diverse expertise and insights to implement effective solutions. Impact: - Operational Efficiency: The reduction in packaging damage has streamlined our processes and improved operational efficiency. - Sustainability Commitment: This initiative supports our commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in promoting responsible consumption and production, and reducing waste. A big thank you to everyone involved for their dedication and teamwork. This achievement highlights the power of collaboration and continuous improvement. #Sustainability #SDGs #DMAIC #ContinuousImprovement #Collaboration #Efficiency #TeamWork #Packaging #SustainableFuture
