Congratulations, Yinka! The judges of the #Peerless competition crowned her venture, Halo Braid, the winner of a $1M investment from AlleyCorp. I’m still buzzing from the energy and insights this partnership has delivered: 💡 At different stages of this competition, I've heard investors say things like "How did you find X company? This would never have come across my desk, and it's a really compelling investment!" Our focus on underrepresented and atypical entrepreneurs surfaced dozens of ventures that defy traditional VC pattern recognition. Peerless proved that centering these founders unearths ventures ripe for investment and poised to transform industries. 💌 We heard personal stories from founders that were both inspiring and transformative. Peerless founders are more than innovators—they're addressing long-neglected issues rooted in their communities and lived experiences. Their commitment reaches beyond business objectives. This makes these founders extra determined to build a force-multiplying business. 🥇 Investors said Peerless 2024 was one of the best pitch competitions they’ve ever attended. Our top 5 contenders (including Antonio Depina, Vivian Graves Zeledón, Justin Kelly, + Dr. Pinkey P.) set a remarkably high bar, and that's saying something considering the strength of our top 20——all of whom are pioneering investable ventures. What we did with Peerless was tap into incredibly high-caliber talent with unique market insights. We did this successfully because spotlighting diverse founders uncovers genuine innovation. We proved the point. Innovation is everywhere. Underrepresented founders bring world-class ideas and teams that deserve more visibility. Talent is equitably dispersed. Opportunity should be too. -------------------------- It’s been a professional joy to bring this competition to life with Desiree Almodovar, Mark Taguchi, Boris Moyston, Brannon Jones, and the AlleyCorp and Management Leadership for Tomorrow teams. #PeerlessPitch #Innovation #VentureCapital #Founders #DiversityInTech #Startups #InclusiveEconomy

It was so lovely to meet you! So grateful for this experience! To the partners, especially the AlleyCorp team and Kevin Ryan - the visionary behind it all. To bring my daughter to rooms she never imagined being in, this opportunity was more than just a pitch!
