Here's the recording of the August 24, 2023 conversation with Bret Getzel and Dave Lingerfelt if you want to add it to your leadership development journey. ◼ ◼ ◼ THIS MONTH'S BOOK: Relentless Implementation by Alan Mulally and Adam Witty ◼ ◼ ◼ While the book did not make lists of our Favorite Books (linked in the comments), we agreed Alan Mulally's leadership and work at Ford are worth studying. Mulally is the modern leader who gets the importance of purpose, people, and profit. He was raised that way (near our beloved hometown of Kansas City!). His parents instilled in him the purpose of life, which we talk about in the book conversation. The Ford turnaround case study is included in the links on the handout provided yesterday (linked in comments). You'll see links to other relevant articles about Mulally and his leadership philosophy provided too. The implementation recommendations in this month's book support the leadership we talked about last month with Jennifer N., who authored, "Be Human, Lead Human." I just finished the book ‘No Time Like The Future’ by Michael J. Fox, and I highly recommend it! This book shares a great lesson in humility. Although suffering from Parkinson’s, his spirit is sky-high.
