Roku experienced a data breach affecting 576,000 users, the second one this year. Hackers used stolen login credentials from other platforms (credential stuffing) to access Roku accounts. In rare cases, unauthorized purchases were made but no sensitive financial data was exposed. Roku reset passwords, will contact affected users, and is offering two-factor authentication for improved security. Remember to use strong, unique passwords and be cautious of suspicious online activity. If you are worried that your data may have been leaked, you can run a free identity threat scan at www.idstrong.com #roku #databreach #cyberattack #cybersecurity #security #infosec #hacker #hacking

Fresh Tip Friday With ever increasing phishing going on, this tip is timely. Instead of using the same or similar passwords, try using a sentence that has meaning to you. Still easy to remember, but much harder to hack. The latest scam is someone sends out an attachment from the Geek Squad. I had my mouse poised over the attachment to look at before realizing that it was most likely a scam. Be vigilant! Try using password software, never write your passwords down or "try" to remember them. #Cybersecurity #Phishing #PasswordManagement #BeVigilant #OnlineSafety #TechTips

Cybercriminals have been perfecting fake bank emails used for phishing for years and they are good! Unless they slip up and make obvious mistakes or you’ve had cyber security training and know what to look for, you might not be able to tell the difference. The best thing to do is not respond. Open up the app or call the number on your card or the website to confirm that it’s a legitimate request. It takes a few extra minutes but could save you a big headache later. #financetip #cybersecurity #businessadvice #scamalert #technews #DirectConnect #Cleveland

Stop hackers in their tracks and read this article via TechTarget to create a new and strong password for future authentication processes: https://lnkd.in/dYf6Ea3z #ChangeYourPassword #CyberCrime #CyberSecurity
