🔊 In a significant push to climate action, U.K. - based bank Barclays came out with its new “Climate Change Statement” on the February 09, 2024. 🔆 Some of the key highlights are ➡ 1️⃣ It will no longer directly finance new oil and gas projects. 2️⃣ Existing energy sector clients will be required to produce transition plans or decarbonization strategies by the beginning of 2025. 3️⃣ The release of a new transition finance framework and defining the criteria for the classifying the finances to decarbonize high - emissions sectors.
