🛳️ LOOK - A BIG SHIP 🛳️
🤭 Ok, ok so this post isn’t going to be about the big ship, although fun fact… this big ship is the now retired HMS Belfast docked at The Queen’s Walk near Tower Bridge, and is also a museum… very cool 🤭
💡On another note, I would like to share a little thought about a different type of ship…
COMRADESHIP
… why I am grateful for it and why everyone should have it💡
⭐️ Today I travelled to London to meet with my esteemed resilience colleagues Jayne Romanczuk MBCI and James L. and what an absolute treat it was (I never say that lightly). In a few short hours together we were able to ideate, share challenges, find new opportunities and value create. Not bad by any stretch… ⭐️
🛟 Arguably you could achieve most of these things with any colleague, after all, we are all here to achieve the same goals for our organisation. But it’s not just that… you need great comradeship to make the best of that value. Comrades are the people who you are 💯 certain would throw you the life raft when you need it the most - always there for you in the good times and the bad 🛟
🤩 And lucky me….because I have firm comrades in my colleagues. They always make my day brighter and make me a better version of myself both professionally and personally. I truly believe everyone needs comrades in their lives and if you do, let’s celebrate it 🤩

Service is undeniably the pathway to success. Yet, despite a growing number of individuals serving diligently year after year, why do we see only a select few rise to the top?
King Solomon's deliberate choice of skilled individuals from King Hiram illustrates the value placed on excellence.
Here are some truths to consider:
❤️🔥A king out there needs the service you are rendering but maybe not how you are rendering the service. It's essential to recognize that the manner in which service is rendered is as crucial as the service itself.
❤️🔥Quality service is a reflection of personal excellence, irrespective of the recipient. Waiting for recognition before striving for excellence is a risky endeavor.
❤️🔥The key to ascending the ladder lies in serving those already at the top. While sponsorship may come from various sources, serving a leader with excellence ensures a lasting position of influence.
❤️🔥Skillfulness devoid of integrity can lead to a downward spiral.
In essence, achieving the pinnacle requires a blend of skill, integrity, and a commitment to excellence."
Happy New Week
It’s a family tradition for us to say thanks to our children at the end of each school year, not for the marks they brought home but for the effort they put in …
… most importantly for embracing the opportunity to learn and have fun with it.
I think that’s a good habit in business, too, especially for ambitious teams.
When we’re constantly busy cracking the next challenge, it can be hard to hit pause for a moment and celebrate how far we’ve already come.
It’s easy to take the effort for granted. But taking a moment once in a while to appreciate the effort and say thanks to the team should be just as easy.
What traditions do you have to celebrate efforts? In your family or in business?

I help people find the right words. If you’re looking for words
con·si·glie·re
/kän-(ˌ)si-glē-ˈye-rē/
noun
a person who serves as an adviser or counselor to the leader of a criminal organization.
I'm told this is 75% of what I do with coachees... minus ordering hits, of course.
20% is fire starting...
5% is Hugger In Chief.
The only reason I don't use "consigliere" as a working title is that most people see it and ask me to:
1. Order a car service
2. Make dinner reservations
3. Score last-minute tickets to the matinee of "Hamilton"

Awesome post Oisin. To be honest if I am the owners of The Doyle Collection group and read this I would be so proud of my people and your workplace. True #Hospitality only shows up when our people are given permission to “win, fail, grow and learn together”. For this a safe work place environment is essential. #psycholgicalsafety#inclusionsafety#learnersafety#contributorsafety#challengersafety
Reflecting on 6 years The Westbury and the The Doyle Collection
What a journey from walking in the door in a white waistcoat as a young bartender, facing a new opportunity.
I am grateful for all the people I have met and continue to meet. The paths I have crossed, paved and redirected.
In the past few years as I have become a young manager and faced many challenges and obstacles, I have realised more than ever, our industry is built on it's people, and more importantly teams.
We win, fail, grow and learn together. Every challenge is a new opportunity for those experiences and another curve thrown.
I understand these are time old tropes and ideas but when I look at my own journey and what I've learnt, I can never put my finger on how I have gotten here, but here I am.
All I know and all I will preach, is work hard, stay open to opportunities and challenge yourself, you'll never be disappointed.
Who I was yesterday, and who I am today will never be more prepared than who I will be tomorrow.
Our company's culture is based around the famously repeated term by Michael Jordan: Taking it personally.
To me, working is not only just something we do to make money or to pass the time we have.
Work needs to impact the people we love most.
And that impact will create a domino effect and change the lives of hundreds of humans.
But we need to start by taking it personally.
And for me taking it personal means a multitude of things:
- Taking ownership for what we have to do and how we do it
- That means giving feedback when someone is slacking off
- That means listening to feedback when I'm a off
- That means asking for help when I or anyone is feeling lost or demotivated
Is all about accountability.
But not only in work-related stuff.
It also means taking it personal on another level.
See, I´ve read that you spend a third of your life working.
And for me, every second I'll be working in my company matters.
That's why I want to make it fun and exciting.
That's why one of the attributes I look out for candidates is a good sense of humor.
Because it's personal.
And I hope you make it personal too.

We have thousands of women building up in the Cybersecurity pipelines, and we want those flood gates to open with Employers that will take them the rest of the way!

Women: Release your inhibitions!
Let me see your excitement, for what's in front of you.
A former Sales Manager in my past, just got a job at Crowdstrike
She's now releasing her inhibitions, empowered.
I feel like I'm about to jump out of my skin, bolder, and badder, more helpful to the world, when Employers receive women, instead of put hurdles in front of them.

When AI released, I leaped a second time.
A company asked me to be open, be coachable into a new system. Illana Golan has been retreating with Richard Branson. How facinating that would be for me to tap some special people.
I'm holding my feet to the fire, tired on my own frustrations with myself. I can drive like a machine, and then I can rest, at times. When my head spins, I have to use the ear seeds, massage and a hot tub to balance myself. I have a different process for working the mind, body and breathe.
Truth is, your thoughts matter!
In Sales, my Partners are an extension of me. Sometimes we might compete, but not if we're working it right, in good communication, and with a spirit that is good for the end users. We balance, support, and act as ONE TEAM!
New learnings: a "one call close".
You've never heard of it, I know. Me either.
Not in Enterprise, I don't think, but I'm being open minded.

Yesterday, I had a first job interview in years.
I always keep an open mind.
The first question was self-sabatogging from a Hiring Mgr.
It was, "Do you have a book of business?"
Its a BIASED question toward having relationships with certain companies of which he could call out the names, specifically.
You CAN'T do that anymore!
My response was, "You're not giving me an opportunity to present the best of myself". He was set aback, and proceeded with the second question. It became a 30 min interview. I give him credit for his bravery to see a women.
He's now someone in my fold to call on, for another reason in my Communities. I never throw opportunities away. I'll bring him value, and he will bring me value one day.
This is a sales lesson, if you can't quite recognize it.
