Grateful to Lorenzo Van Ness for sharing their vision for city that embraces racial and gender equity and diversity and continuing their hard work to get us there. Happy pride, y'all.

As #PrideMonth draws to a close, CORE's Director of Community Organizing & Engagement Lorenzo Van Ness penned a reflection piece on the powerful emotions that drive our community's fight for justice and equity.   The piece, titled "Love and Rage: Reflections on Pride Month and the Fight for Equity in NYC," explores the legacy of the Stonewall riots—an event born from both rage and love, led by individuals who refused to let the world crush their spirits. This reflection is most importantly a personal journey, inspired by their late mother and the resilient Queer and Trans ancestors, navigating the balance of loving our community and ourselves while striving for a better NYC. You can read the full piece now on Gay City News: https://lnkd.in/exM9Z6FD. "We cannot undo the past harms of racism, sexism, and all of the oppressions that work together to make it so that some have more barriers to overcome than others, but we can look ahead towards a New York City where every New Yorker is valued, thriving, and embraced." Happy Friday. 🏳️🌈
