Get to know our team! Today we are featuring Lucas Greenberg our summer intern from Case Western Reserve University! What do you do at UH Ventures in one sentence? - I've been interning with Matthew Zenker and the new UH Haslam Sports Innovation Center with their incoming deal flow. I research, analyze, and compile a variety of data and information to assess sports-medicine and health companies/markets to help accelerate and invest in them. I'm also working on the upcoming SportsLand event with Patricia Colella, MBA, by helping out in all areas of event management. What are your favorite things to do outside of school? - I love to exercise and try new workouts, but more importantly, I love to eat. During COVID, I began cooking and baking as a way to unwind; I try to make a meal four times a week. My favorite dish to make is my grandfather’s shrimp and pea risotto. Favorite binge-worthy TV show? - The Office. I have seen The Office over five times and I can quote certain scenes by heart! What is your favorite restaurant in Cleveland? - Batuqui; a fun Brazilian summer dinner spot. What do you love about Cleveland? - I was born and raised all around Cleveland, and throughout my time, there has been one constant: the people. Everyone from Cleveland has a unique and inspiring story, and I love meeting people from around the world. #Internship #HealthTech #Innovation #EventManagement #Innovation #CareerDevelopment #ProfessionalGrowth #Cleveland

Joseph Percival Allen University Professor of Economics and Director of Management Fellows at DePauw University
I love this! Jack Rutstein, one of our senior Management Fellows, was featured in The Wall Street Journal. In the immortal words of Calvin Coolidge (one of my favorite presidents): “Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On!' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.” ― Calvin Coolidge Jack Rutstein embodies this characteristic. Such grit and determination are the lifeblood of success and the central focus of our business program at DePauw University, e.g., Jon Phillips will touch on this topic this Thursday in our capstone course - see you there, Jack! Resiliency is all too rare. Too few accept the challenge of forging their own path. Jack, I am proud of you and your resiliency. I can't wait to see you blaze your path. #depauw #resilience #persistence
My past, present, and future plans were all well-represented in the The Wall Street Journal this morning. Four years at DePauw University including my semester-long internship at Pacers Sports & Entertainment, and my recent summer internship that led to a post-graduate role at Paradox. A special nod to Lindsay Ellis for creating the wonderful thinkpiece which features other like-minded college seniors who also networked their way to a new heights. Additionally, thanks to Lauren K. who was also quoted, representing the Paradox enzo well. The full article can be seen here: https://lnkd.in/didnRA-K

🎉Intern Spotlight!🎉 As we continue our weekly intern spotlight series, we’re excited to feature Joe Hayden, a senior a Villanova University majoring in Finance and Real Estate. Joseph is located at our Plymouth Meeting headquarters and works alongside our skilled team of analysts to aid our acquisition efforts across various sectors. Joseph assists with underwriting, due diligence and closing processes for our private real estate team and helps us to maintain strong relationships with our partners and the brokerage community. 1. How did you become interested in the field or industry you’re interning in? I have always been interested in commercial real estate, as my family has been in the business my entire life and I have seen parts of the business firsthand from a young age. However, I furthered my interest in this field by taking classes in commercial real estate at Villanova University, and with the help of my teachers, I have been able to expand my knowledge and deepen my interest in the industry. 2. What do you hope to gain from your internship with Center Square? Through this internship with CenterSquare, I hope to broaden my understanding of private equity real estate by working alongside as many team members as possible and asking questions. I also hope to increase my proficiency in critical real estate modeling tools, such as Argus and Excel, which will help me to understand all the asset types that CenterSquare works on. 3. What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Outside of work, I enjoy exercising and going to the gym, as well as spending as much time as I can with friends and family. 4. What would your ideal role/position be after graduating college? After interning in private equity and working closely with analysts for the past two summers, I have found that my ideal role would be an acquisitions analyst for a private equity real estate firm. By working in this role, I can further develop my skillset and find my niche within the commercial real estate business. 5. What is the most interesting class you’ve taken during your studies? The most interesting class I have taken at Villanova University so far was a free elective, Intro to Criminology, which I took during the fall semester of my junior year. This class was very collaborative, and consisted of many interesting projects and presentations that had a focus on the psychology behind all types of crimes. #summerinternship #futureleaders #teamwork #learnandgrow
