Celebrating a Legacy of Innovation and Progress: As a US citizen and a Scotsman, I want to recognize the courageous Scotsmen who signed the Declaration of Independence. Their bold move not only helped shape America's future but also reflects the very essence of Scottish culture - a spirit of innovation, a thirst for progress, and a passion for making a difference. The seven Scottish signers - John Witherspoon, James Wilson, John Morton, James Armstrong, George Ross, George Taylor, and Matthew Thornton - embodied the Scottish values that have driven innovation and progress for centuries: - A willingness to challenge the status quo - A courage to take risks - A commitment to improving the human experience These values have fueled Scotland's contributions and they're the same values that have led to America's innovation and progress. As we celebrate Independence Day on July 4th, let's keep writing the next chapter in the story of innovation and progress! #ScottishPride #AmericanIndependence #DeclarationOfIndependence #USHistory #ScottishHeritage #Innovation #Progress #Advocacy #Leadership

📣 A message to young professionals of color: You weren't meant to fit into Corporate America; stand out! Why do I say this? Because the blueprint for success in white-collar America wasn't designed to help us succeed. If anything, it was intended to keep us marginalized. And recognizing this is the first step toward creating meaningful change from within Corporate America. We were born to be cultural disruptors, pioneers, trailblazers. It's time we own it. This is, of course, easier said than done - especially when some BIPOC professionals face more rampant bias in the workplace than others. But, I also know that attempts at assimilation can only lead to feelings of invisibility. Eventually you're forced to split yourself into halves, and code switching becomes part of your survival tool kit. But, you can't thrive in survival mode. For us, the road to success begins with honoring our whole selves, rejecting assimilation and embracing acculturation. Our voice and power will not trickle down from the C-Suite, we must find it in our own unique story and identity. Diversity in the workplace means nothing if you are given a seat at the table only to blend in and nod along silently. We must speak up. If we all do this, it will be like the rising tide that lifts all boats, leading us to a more inclusive future for Corporate America. Need inspiration? Analogy: Welcome to Holland... Before I go into Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) and why it matters from a work context... Introducing you to WELCOME TO HOLLAND. As a parent of a special needs child "Person of Determination", I live the experience every day. Your whole life you dream of going to Italy, you romanticise about it, the day comes you pack your bag and take your flight. Coming into land the stewardess says, "Welcome to Holland, and here you must stay". Meanwhile people are bragging about coming and going to Italy and your thinking, this is where I was supposed to be going... But Holland is still beautiful, you need a new guidebook, a new language, you will meet people you would never of met before... Holland has windmills, tulips and Rembrandt... If you spend your whole life thinking about Italy, you will never appreciate the amazing things about Holland... Now translating this into the workplace... In the ever-evolving corporate world, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) have become more than just buzzwords. They are now integral components of successful business strategies, driving innovation, creativity, and employee satisfaction. One particular focus of DEIB is the empowerment and inclusion of People of Determination, a term that recognizes the abilities and strengths of individuals with disabilities. World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that more than 1 billion people, or about 15% of the global population, live with some form of disability. People of Determination are an often-underrepresented group in the workplace, despite their vast potential and unique perspectives. However, progressive organizations are beginning to see the benefits of a more inclusive approach, recognizing that diversity extends beyond race, gender, or age. It also includes different abilities. Companies that embrace DEIB are not only championing social justice but are also gaining a competitive edge. A diverse workplace fosters a culture of innovation and creativity, as different perspectives challenge the norms and lead to groundbreaking ideas. Equity is an essential aspect of DEIB and it means that everyone, including People of Determination, has equal opportunities to grow professionally. It is about ensuring that the right systems are in place to support the unique needs of all individuals, regardless of their abilities. People should not just be recruited to fill a quota, but to actually have fair pay grades, develop, motivate and retain all employees. Inclusion is about creating an environment where everyone feels valued and included. For People of Determination, this might mean providing reasonable accommodations like assistive technology, flexible working hours, or ergonomic workspaces. #deib #socialjustice #inclusion #itmatters #makeitcount #unconsciousbias #peopleofdetermination #innovations #talentmanagement #equitymatters

The United States of America is the utmost entrepreneurial experience in the world. The notion of self-government, expressed in the first three words ("We the People") of the Constitution, which is the document that sets up the Government of the country, is not only unique to this country but also the materialization of the entrepreneurial spirit that drives it. As an American Citizen today, I feel even more empowered and energized to fulfill my own American dream by helping others fulfill theirs: building Gabriel Money, the path to financial prosperity for young Latinos in the US! Together we go far!!! 🚀 🚀 🚀 #entrepreneurship #USCitizen #latinos
Exciting day for our Co-founders Danielle Hirsch and Rodrigo Dantas e Silva today, as they were sworn in as American Citizens! 🇺🇸🎉 The journey to make the American Dream a reality has lots of different angles, challenges and emotions. This Independence Day let’s pledge to be free of FEAR. Fear of failure, rejection, anxiety, stress, uncertainty, future, past… anything that stops us to move forward and achieve our potential. Whether we are running a sprint or marathon, as long as we can take strategic pauses and strike a balance, journey should be enjoyable. #independenceday

Cooperatives are such an added value to our communities, ecomomy, cultures, and future. Cooperatives - center people first. What’s good for all involved, pooling resources together to spread the good, what are acts that have sustainable effects, instead of refractive effects, decisions that work to better lives, not strictly profit from them. Coops exist in so many facets of our lives. Whenever possible - choose a Co-op! • Credit Unions (don’t have outside stockholders - members are the collective shareholders - decisions benefit the members/membership) • Grocery Co-ops (like PCC, Central Co-op) • Home care co-ops • Electric Co-ops • Agricultural Co-ops • Retail co-ops (Ace Hardware) • Worker-Owner Co-op (growing trend among businesses where owners are aging out and selling business to employees collectively) • Housing Co-ops …. And much more. Worth celebrating. Wanna have a positive impact - join a Co-op!
Join us tomorrow as we celebrate the 102nd International Day of Cooperatives! Under the theme 'Cooperatives Building a Better Future for All', we'll showcase the sustainable contributions of cooperatives worldwide.
