Pepsi Or Coke.. The vending machines of both these competitors are beside each other.. Why would they do it? Why do they want to confuse the customers? Why don't they setup away from each other's territory and be competition free?? The answer is, the companies are smart... if there is only one vending machine, then the customer has 2 options, either Yes or No.. When the customer sees 2 vending machines, he has got 2 options Pepsi or Coke.. This is how the marketing works... read somewhere..

In 1999 Coke experimented with the idea of smart vending machines which will change the price based on temprature (dynamic pricing - the price goes up with temprature and viceversa) Customers were furious as they felt they will be exploited .... and more because - how can their beloved Coke exploit them!!! Today I read this news 👇 which says - Coke will increase the number of vending machines which charge a price thats based on demand It seems customers are ok and have accepted the idea! Although its a different market and time (earlier it was US, and now its Japan) but had it been the same place, then - as a business Coke would have earned more revenue, ... but as a brand this would indicate that it has lost that love of customers! https://lnkd.in/dqymKpgi
