Stay in your zone of genius. I'll build your engagement | Perspectives from a cancer survivor in active recovery | Posting good vibes and mental health
Rating scales, judged by the best rating scale: 1: No system 2: Out of 5 3: Out of 10 4: Out of 4 The four-point scale gets people off the fence. It dispenses with the midwestern politeness of giving three-out-of-five-stars and the midwestern politeness of a seven-out-of-ten. it provides more honesty because people don’t have a canned answer like they do with a five-point scale (mostly 3) or a ten-point scale (mostly 7). Here’s the scale: 1 = Shitty 2 = Don’t recommend 3 = Would recommend 4 = Hell yeah!

Are you getting the Business Observer Daily Brief? This is our newspaper's digital front page. It's delivered Monday-Friday, 5 a.m., to your inbox — for free. It's local news reported on and written by some of the top reporters and editors in Florida - not written by bots, not assembled by ChatGPT and not cut-and-pasted rehashed press releases. Our goal is to keep you informed of what's going on to help you make better decisions with your organization. If you are not getting the Daily Brief - here's what you missed today on a stellar Monday of news: • We were the first in the region to report on a highly-anticipated Sarasota deli that closed Saturday, two days after it opened, due to staffing challenges. • Our commercial real estate editor Louis Llovio had three stories - one on Walgreens selling off properties in the region; one on an office building in Tampa obtaining a $45M loan; and one on window manufacturer PGT Innovations opening a $54M plant in Virginia. • Our Tampa editor Jim Stinson jumped on another interesting story: the widow of opera legend Luciano Pavarotti is planning to build a $30M arts campus and theatre in Naples. • But wait there's more - this edition of the Daily Brief included a biweekly leadership column I've been writing since 2021, #leadershipmatters. This column was about a European and U.S. soccer star's new coaching role at a private school in Naples, and his lessons and insights in leadership. So...act now! Amazon Pathways Operations Manager | Champion of Teamwork & Execution | Driven to Win | North Dallas Chamber of Commerce Member | The Honor Foundation Alum
"Failures, repeated failures, are finger posts on the road to achievement." - C.S. Lewis Yesterday, I had an incredible opportunity with The Honor Foundation to engage in four insightful mock interviews with distinguished private sector professionals. It was an enlightening journey stepping into diverse industry landscapes, each offering unique perspectives and indispensable advice. The best part? These sessions were not just theoretical practice but meaningful connections in action. They paved the way for follow-on "cups of coffee" with some senior private sector mavens. An amazing testament to THF's immersive approach, bridging the gap between practice and real-world application. As we often do when faced with a challenge, I decided to "go full send" - leaning into the discomfort to reap the rewards that lie just beyond it. Reflecting on this experience, I am reminded that discomfort is not to be feared but seen as a catalyst for growth and learning. I'm deeply grateful to Sam Dement, Jillian Bauman, Cally Wood, Joshua Burch, and the rest of the THF staff for facilitating such a transformative experience and look forward to continuing this journey towards success. Matt Stevens, your THF team is elite - full stop. I'm incredibly grateful for THF. "Alone we can do so little; together, we can do so much." These Helen Keller words ring true when we acknowledge that the crisis of public trust in news media is not something that can be overcome by one single person, group or organisation. It requires the coordination of multiple stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, news organisations, journalists and practitioners, civil society and the public. By recognising the collective power we all have, we can build on our existing regulatory framework to make a system of self-regulation that is robust and enduring, fostering public trust in news. Impress is focused on achieving this through our commitment to public participation and consultation on our core governing articles, the Standards Code and our Regulatory Scheme. By collaborating with others and promoting co-created standards, Impress strives to enable a media landscape that reflects as many diverse perspectives as possible. Wow, every so ofter there is a journalist from the tradional media side that tells the truth. Legacy media is already dead, especially in the younger generations who get most if not all of thief news from new media. It’s like the yellow pages and the internet. Only great talent and great journalism will make it. To be honest most Legacy Media is quite simply not going to survive. It’s time to stop throwing good money after bad to prop them up around the world in 2024. Lastly, the #clown political class need to understand and dominate the new reality to survive in this new world. Do your job, speak the truth and investigate the world around you and most importantly share it everywhere. Newspapers, TV and trafitional radio are decining and probably won’t recover. https://lnkd.in/gzche_7v
