As 2023 draws to a close, many of us reflect on a year marked by financial challenges. High inflation, the resumption of student loan payments, and widespread corporate layoffs have made this a tough year for many. It's easy and common to get caught up in the allure of big brands - be it Jordan, Dolce, Ralph Lauren, or others. We often spend significant amounts on these names, seeking a sense of identity or status. But as we stand on the threshold of 2024, I propose a shift in our focus. This new year, let's invest not in these names, but in the people around us. Every individual in our network is a 'brand' in themselves, with unique values, strengths, and qualities that they bring to our lives. I encourage you all to take a moment and @ someone in your network. Share what their personal 'brand' means to you. What values do they embody? How have they influenced your life or career? This isn't about spending money, but about investing time, energy, and gratitude in recognizing the real, human connections that enrich our lives. Let's celebrate the end of this year by empowering each other, acknowledging the diverse and valuable contributions we all make. We can bring in 2024 with a sense of community and shared strength. Shocking news for anybody who is going to be effected by this…. Builders merchant Travis Perkins is set to make redundancies after it said that the uncertainty surrounding the economy had gone on for longer than it originally planned for. The Northants-based giant hasn’t disclosed to TheBusinessDesk.com how many jobs will be lost, but says it wants to make the business “leaner and simpler”. The news comes after profits fell by almost a third for the six months to June – down 31% to £112m; a performance it blamed on weak domestic and new build markets. Revenues also fell by 2% to £2.47bn. A spokesperson told TheBusinessDesk.com: ““Challenging market conditions have continued for longer than anticipated and the uncertain economic outlook continues to impact across our industry.

📉Recently, we worked with a client in the quality control material handling industry who faced financial challenges due to the pandemic. They chose to retain their highly skilled engineers instead of layoffs, but after six months, their financials declined, and they struggled with loan payments. 🏦The client brought in a consultant to improve the management of operations and finances, where Flexent was ultimately introduced by the consultant. Our client was initially skeptical if Flexent could provide the needed working capital due to negative earnings and equity.
