Today, on World Food Day 2023, we celebrate the crucial connection between water and food! Water is the lifeline of agriculture: 70% of the world's fresh water goes into agriculture. It takes approximately 1,000 liters of water to produce 1 kg of rice. A staggering 15,000 liters of water are needed to produce 1 kg of beef! The global water-food challenge: 2 billion people worldwide suffer from water scarcity. 9 million people die each year due to lack of access to safe water. Yet, 1/3 of all food produced globally is lost or wasted. Let's take action for a sustainable future Reducing Food waste can save billions of cubic meters of water. Sustainable farming practices can make every drop count. Supporting local and responsible agriculture can make a world of difference. Let's raise awareness about the vital link between water and food this World Food Day. Together, we can make a change, ensure food security, and protect our precious water resources. #WorldFoodDay #WaterIsFood #FoodSecurity #Sustainability #WaterIsLife#www.certigoqa.com https://lnkd.in/gXftCS2D

The 5 hacks for clean eating 🍏💡 2. Clean Fifteen and Dirty Dozen List The Environmental Working Group (EWG) conducts a study every year on the fruits and vegetables that have the most and the least exposure to pesticide residues, which can end up in our stomachs. This is probably one of my favourite hacks because it provides a clear, actionable guide you can keep with you while shopping. By knowing which produce items are safer to buy conventionally and which ones you should buy organic, you can reduce your pesticide exposure significantly without breaking the bank. 🛒💰 Here is the 2024 list from the EWG: Clean 15 🍽️🌟 These are the fruits and vegetables with the least pesticide residues and are generally safe to buy conventionally. Dirty Dozen ⚠️🍓 These items have the highest levels of pesticide residues and are best bought organic. Use this list to make smarter choices and reduce your exposure to harmful chemicals. Unveiling the Impact of PFAS on Farmland and Food 🌱🚜 A recent investigative video by CNN has brought to light the alarming presence of PFAS, the "forever chemicals," in our farmland and food supply. (Watch the video: https://lnkd.in/g8a4zVJu) The video delves into the concerning reality that PFAS contamination isn't limited to water sources but has seeped into the very soil where our food grows. Through the use of biosolids, PFAS are unknowingly spread onto farmland, posing a significant risk to crop quality and food safety. This revelation underscores the urgent need for greater awareness and action to address the pervasive threat of PFAS pollution. As consumers, it's essential to advocate for transparency in food production processes and support initiatives aimed at reducing PFAS exposure. Furthermore, it highlights the critical role of regulatory agencies and agricultural practices in mitigating PFAS contamination and ensuring the safety of our food supply. Collaboration among stakeholders is essential to implement effective solutions that protect both human health and environmental integrity. Let's leverage this knowledge to drive positive change. Together, we can work towards a future where PFAS are no longer a silent menace to our farmland, food, and well-being. #PFAS #CleanWater #FoodSafety #EnvironmentalHealth #Agriculture #Sustainability #ConsumerAwareness #Regulation #CNN #CommunityEngagement

here is the alternative ➡ crop.zone uses only 20 kWh per HA (less than an EV on 100 km), which is ten times less than the production energy of Glyphosate ➡we are fully organic-approved ➡we allow the combination of organic farming and no-till ➡we do not produce any resistant plants. Glyphosate is a technology from the 1960s!
European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) don't look up and say "no critical area of concern with glyphosate". Demeter has invested in crop.zone hybrid herbicide because 1) glyphosate is scientifically proven to harm health and environment (cf. INRAE), 2) there are alternative solutions, 3) market demand for alternative solutions already exists.
