Mental health is a journey that many of us navigate daily. Small gestures can mean the world when you're facing such challenges. Here’s how we can all contribute to making days brighter for those experiencing mental health issues: - Check In Regularly – A simple message asking, "How are you really feeling?" can make all the difference. It shows you care and are there to listen. - Provide Affirmations – Words have power. Positive affirmations can help someone combat negative thoughts and provide a much-needed boost. - Share Resources – Sometimes, the best way to help is to share information about where to find professional support, such as counseling services or mental health hotlines. - Be Patient and Understanding – Everyone has their own pace in life and healing. Show that you understand without pushing them to act cheerful or "get better" quickly. Let's be the light for those who might be walking through darker times. https://forresterbhh.com/

Content Writer | Mental Health Advocate | Dance Fitness Instructor | Helping mental health brands stand out with content that speaks from experience.
It took me 8 years to fully reflect on my own journey. Now? I can accept my mental health struggles as part of who I am rather than dwell on the guilt and shame. My hope is that by sharing, I can help others do the same and most importantly, seek help when needed. If you’re currently going through mental health challenges, know that you’re not alone. Seek help, lean on your support network, and remember that it’s okay to speak up. Don’t let guilt or shame hold you back. To those who are helping someone through mental health challenges, educate yourself, listen non-judgmentally and approach mental health with compassion and understanding. Together we can break the stigma, one conversation at a time.

It is important to note and recognize that Bullies exist at every level in life, even in the workplace; not just secondary school. Unfortunately, ignoring a bully (as is sometimes the advice given) doesn't make them go away. You must stand up to them. Stand up for yourself. Remember that You have value. Your life has value. And You belong where God has placed you. Peace ✌🏾 If you are thinking of suicide or worried about someone you know, Dial 9-8-8: Suicide Crisis Helpline is available 24/7, helping to create real change in mental health. https://lnkd.in/eYMb-VH3

Mental health is a journey that we all navigate differently, and there’s no shame in that. We embrace these differences, share our stories, and listen to others with an open heart and mind. Unashamed conversations about mental health can empower us, foster understanding, and build bridges of empathy. They remind us that it’s alright to seek help, it’s okay to struggle, and it’s OK to say you’re not OK. So, let’s start these conversations today. Let’s talk about our mental health without shame or fear. Because every conversation is a step towards a world where mental health is understood, not stigmatised. Remember, your story matters. Your feelings matter. You matter. https://lnkd.in/gkUBhYEJ

😃❤️What is lived experience? Lived experience refers to the first-hand involvement or direct experiences and choices of a given person, and the knowledge that they gain from it, as opposed to the knowledge a given person gains from second-hand or mediated source. 😃😎How important is lived experience? It recognises the unique insights, awareness and opportunities lived experience provides and differentiates between the lived experiences all people have, and those uniquely informed by life altering mental health challenges. 🧥💛How can my lived experience help others? I use my lived experience to support those who are struggling with mental health, to provide them with a feeling that there not alone. Creating groups, public speaking and sharing my story enables others to learn from my experiences which is so powerful in watching others journeies through tough times. Want to hear my story or see it being helpful you you, your organisation then feel free to reach out.

Time to Talk Day, February 6, draws attention to mental health and the importance of reaching out to others. The day aims to help people open up and be honest about mental health, without the fear and stigma often attached to the topic. It can be daunting to express personal struggles and because of this, many people keep everything bottled up. By opening up, the likelihood of the person seeking help increases, which can be crucial to the healing process. On Time to Talk Day, let us help raise awareness about mental health and be a part of changing the narrative.

More and more people are realizing that it's OK to get mental health help. For some, they were taught that it makes you weak or tabo. Others were taught that males need to just suck it up and push it down. Depending which generation you grew up in depends on your view. Today is National Senior Mental Health Day. To the generation that was not taught, it's ok to talk about your mental health, we want you to know we are here to listen, your mental health matters, and it's OK to get help. It shows strength, not weakness. https://lnkd.in/gUwzs2Ks
