Mental health is like physical health When its upgraded, everything runs smoother and better You will be more productive, make more money, have better relationships, and feel happier Physical health is measured by how much physical energy you have and can produce Mental health is measured by how much positive emotional energy you have and can produce If you feel stress, anxious, depressed, are angry and yelling, this is a mental health issue The repair process can be similar in many ways Physical health requires a strategy to provide you physical body its needs via diet, exercise, sleep Mental health requires a strategy to provide your mental, emotional and nervous systems its needs, via positive goal setting and habit formation, emotional dialogue, and body sensation awareness Give yourself what you need, and your self will give back to you what you demand in order to feel happy Being happy feels good, very good, so good

Mental Health Mental health is vital for overall well-being, affecting how we handle stress, relate to others, and make decisions. Disconnecting from daily stressors and constant digital exposure helps reduce stress, improve focus, and enhance sleep quality. It also fosters better personal relationships and encourages mindfulness. Regular breaks and digital detoxes can significantly support and enhance mental health. We all know the importance of taking care of our body, and know how to do that, either through exercise or eating healthy food. But some people don't understand the importance of taking time to nurture our mental well-being. Today is the World Mental Health Day, so it's a great day to start taking care of your mental health. I want to share some ways I do that: * I start my day with a gratitude list * I finish my day with a meditation * I take my meals in a mindful way * I tune into my body everytime I feel any emotion or stress rising. I take a few deep breaths and really feel the sensations in my body. Then I ask myself where this emotion is coming from, if I can't in that moment I do it before going to bed. The important thing is to be more aware of our thoughts and emotions. 😉 If we don't address emotions when they happen, we start accumulating them and it can get to a point where we feel overwhelmed and reactive and don't know why. ‘World Mental Health Day.’ Whereas I am glad that the topic of mental health is becoming so much more accepted (shout out to GenZ on TikTok), it often becomes the topic of statistics around diagnoses and much ‘pearl-clutching’ at the shock of it all. Diagnoses are a label put on human conditions that have been around since the beginning of humanity. There is no one who is not ‘diagnosable’ at some point in there life. Mental health is a component of your health every second of every day. It is not something that happens to you. Having thoughts and emotions (which what has been lumped into ‘mental’ health is really ‘emotional’ health) are a full-time job that require your attention every day. That noisy mind chatter of regurgitated messages you have been accumulating over a lifetime is not a source of wisdom. It’s just the brain spitting out information it’s heard before. That source of wisdom is underneath it. The time spent deciphering mindless-mind chatter could be instead spent examining what in it is useful, tossing what’s unfounded or inauthentic, and finding your own capital ‘T’ Truth underneath. That is mental healthiness, and that process can replace that overplayed ‘chatter’ in your mind for a mental and emotional state that feels much wiser, much quieter, and much more peaceful. Mental Health Awareness Month: It's OK not to be OK As May (Mental Health Awareness Month) draws to a close, we'd like to share some important tips and information. Mental Health can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or income level. And it is a good reminder to focus on the importance of mental health and its impact on our wellbeing. According to various studies, including young children and older adults, at least one in five people are likely to have experienced anxiety, depression or other mental disorders in the past year. Studies also show that: Mental illness is treatable. People with mental illness can and do lead happy and productive lives. Tips for improving emotional and physical balance -Say it. Naming feelings, talking about them and describing emotions is important for mental well-being. -Practice self-care. Good sleep, diet and exercise routines are linked to improved mental and physical health. -Start small. Choose one small thing each week to work on. Add something new and positive or eliminate a bad habit. -Don't give up. It takes several months for a behaviour to become a habit, but for some people it may take longer. World Mental Health Day Today is World Mental Health Day and I thought of sharing some of the few tips to deal with mental health. As a society we need to be loving, people are going through things. They say people don’t fake depression but they fake being okay and sound while deep down munthu akudyeka! Below are some generic approaches to deal with mental issues, do not suffer in silence. 1. Reach out: Talk to a therapist, counselor, or trusted friend or family member about your feelings. 2. Self-care: Prioritize sleep, nutrition, exercise, and relaxation techniques. 3. Mindfulness: Practice meditation or deep breathing to manage stress. 4. Set goals: Break tasks into smaller, achievable steps to reduce overwhelm. 5. Limit stressors: Identify and reduce sources of stress in your life. 6. Seek professional help: Don't hesitate to consult a mental health professional if needed. 7. Medication: If prescribed, take medication as directed by a healthcare provider. 8. Support groups: Join a support group to connect with others facing similar challenges.
