More about the immigration policies from my colleague Emily:
The UK is my home and I feel frustrated - so it's understandable that the prospect of altered immigration policies must be nerve-wracking, especially for those who have their hearts set on continuing their professional journey in the UK. The uncertainty can cast a shadow over the hard work and dedication you've put into your studies and careers. However, I think it's crucial to remember that the essence of your international education experience is not solely defined by immigration policies. The friendships formed, the knowledge gained, and the personal growth achieved during your time in the UK are invaluable aspects that no policy change can take away. I know that media headlines filled with uncertainties and bold predictions can be a source of concern. In its characteristic fashion, the British Media has not shied away from adding a touch of chaos to the mix. Let’s not create exaggerated rumours amongst our international community and remember to use reliable data sources to inform each other. Rest assured here at the University of Stirling we are working closely with UKCISA (UK Council for International Student Affairs) and other reputable organisations within the sector to stay informed about the potential changes and their implications, ensuring that we are well-prepared to support and guide our students and graduates with their careers through whatever changes may come. Our 2024 International Careers Programme is now live including our first ever international student careers conference. #weareinternational

Digital Transformation - Eliminating business silos by unifying projects, resources and finance management on one platform.
🌏 Embrace Diversity, Foster Excellence! 🌟 As a staunch supporter of the transformative power of education and the incredible potential of international talent, I fully endorse the idea of granting UK residency to top foreign students upon graduation. 🎓 🌐 Our world is becoming increasingly interconnected, and diverse perspectives are invaluable. When the UK opens its doors to these bright minds, it not only enriches its culture but also strengthens its workforce and global competitiveness. 🌍 🔍 These students bring a wealth of skills and experiences that benefit UK society in countless ways. They contribute to research breakthroughs, innovation, entrepreneurship, and the arts, making the UK a hub for creativity and progress. 🚀 💡 From engineering to healthcare, finance to technology, the contributions of international graduates are immeasurable. They help the UK address complex challenges, introduce fresh ideas, and stimulate economic growth. 💼 🤝 Let's foster an inclusive environment that nurtures excellence. By providing residency to top foreign students, the UK sends a message that it is open, innovative, and welcoming to talent from around the world. Taking a step towards a brighter, more diverse, and more prosperous future Together, the UK can create a stronger, more globally competitive nation. My honest 2 cents/penies #Education #DiversityMatters #Innovation #GlobalTalent #UKResidencyForStudents

From S&P Global Ratings We think that heightened #geopolitical uncertainties, tighter restrictions on immigration, and growing competition from emerging-market institutions that are gaining recognition could reduce the number of international students studying in U.K. universities. Following a #policy change, as of January 2024, most international students are not allowed to bring their dependents to the U.K. on their study visas, with discussions around post-study work visas ongoing. In our view, these measures may affect U.K. universities' competitive positions and make their business models increasingly risky. Why does it matter? Harsh Reality of Lives of International Students: International students face significant financial burdens compared to local students. They pay higher tuition fees and must cover the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) before arriving in the country. After graduation, they are required to pay the IHS again in addition to contributing taxes while working.Finding a job is exponentially more difficult for international graduates. Many are rejected outright due to visa sponsorship issues, often without their CVs being reviewed. This systemic bias adds tremendous pressure on them, affecting their mental health and well-being.It's crucial to highlight and address the struggles and mental health challenges faced by international students. Despite these difficulties, there is a lack of awareness and empathy. Hiring companies often blame the government, and the government justifies these policies as beneficial for UK residents, leaving international students caught in a disheartening cycle. https://lnkd.in/enFGfVhC

Graduate Immigration Strategy: Plan Early 🔥 We've got some great news to share. We secured a Graduate Visa for our client in an incredibly short 3-day timeframe, bypassing the usual 8-week waiting period. 🎓 This quick online process allowed our client to extend their stay in the UK before their then-current leave expired, saving them a lot of time. Our legal consultant, Olga Bakeeva, played a key role in making this happen. ↪️ When it comes to life after graduation, strategic planning is your best ally. The Graduate Visa, or 'Graduate Route,' launched in 2021, provides an excellent option for international students completing their studies in the UK. This pathway guarantees a minimum 2-year stay after graduation, extending to 3 years for those with a PhD or other doctoral qualifications. 🪂 Covering a wide range of eligible courses, including Bachelor's and Master's degrees, PhDs, law conversion courses, and specific medical and educational programs. Provided you successfully completed your course, the Graduate Route opens up opportunities for employment, self-employment, job searching, travel, volunteering for you and your dependants. Your family members can stay with you as your dependants if they have been your dependants on your Student visa. 🌘 Beyond the Graduate Route, other immigration options may be preferable based on your individual case. We advise you to consult with us to explore these alternatives and make an informed decision tailored to your goals. #GraduateImmigration #UKStudents #LondonGraduates . #VisaSuccess #InternationalStudents #StudyinLondon #GraduateRoute #PlanEarly #PostGradLife #LondonVisa #StudentSuccess #LegalConsultancy #StrategicPlanning #PhDHolder #BachelorDegree #MasterPrograms #SmoothTransition #ImmigrationOptions #EarlyStrategy #VisaConsultation #StudentVisaUK #UKStudyAbroad #LondonOpportunities #FutureInLondon #GlobalGraduates #StayInUK #LegalInsights #LSLegaL_Solicitors

If you’re an international student in America, this is for you! My friend, Soundarya Balasubramani has launched a country-wide tour to educate international graduate students (like you) on immigration so that you can secure your future in America. I'm so proud of my friend doing this and want to support her. ❤️ I have seen her journey throughout. From meeting at a conference where we both were the only female speakers, her journey of writing her first book, taking the difficult step of leaving her corporate job to now writing her second book and getting O1. She is a published author of a book on immigration, Unshackled, and the founder of a community for talent visa aspirants. 👏 She’s visiting 15 universities in April — including Harvard, Stanford, and Columbia — to address more than 3000+ students in total. This is a FREE event where you’ll get access to a ton of benefits, including: - Free snacks. - Free swag. - A chance to get your questions answered by immigration lawyers - And mainly, options besides the H-1B that you can take to live and work in America or Canada. If you’re from one of the 15 universities that she’ll be visiting, do not miss this free event! 👉 RSVP here for your university: https://lnkd.in/gKa_e2SA This is the kind of stuff I wish I had when I was a student. 😍 #immigration #freeresources #h1b #visa #education #students
