Understand the problem <> Provide a solution.  Voila! They are leading by example and creating the future they want to see Richard Branson once said "[Customers] do not come first. Employees come first. If you take care of your employees, they will take care of the [customers]."  No doubt Frida employees are doing a great of servicing their customers…even more now that they’ve had a true day to rest. I remember carrying a lot of things when I would commute to my corporate job as a working mom: -My purse, complete with my wallet, phone, keys, a lipstick, half a granola bar, a hot wheels car, you know-the essentials -My pumping bag, filled with bottles, an insulated container, ziplock bags, pumping parts, a hands-free bra, and wipes -My nice shoes (because who really commutes wearing heels?) -My lunch or breakfast or both -My laptop if I had brought it home the night before -My coffee if I could balance it along with everything else It felt like A LOT. It felt like I was just waiting for something to drop or spill or smash inside my bag and leave banana guts or salad dressing all over everything. I knew something had to change. It's not that I didn't love my job, my work family, my company. I did. I just loved my real family (and my sanity) more. And if I didn't start doing things differently soon, I'd be drowning in a sea of breast milk or ranch. I was too tired to distinguish and didn't care to figure it out either. While this was certainly the catalyst for me to starting my business, I soon discovered it wasn't my ONLY why. -I realized making a BIG, POSITIVE impact was part of the legacy I wanted to leave behind. -I discovered more about myself and where my talents lie. -I honored my ambition and wanted to shatter through the glass ceiling of earning potential. -I needed to set the example for my kids of following your dreams and not just letting them shrink down into the distance because there were more important things to focus on. Forgiving Fridays Recently, I’ve a poor experience with a food caterer. Not only were they 3-hours late, they left behind remaining furniture that weren’t collected for more than a month. I love the aesthetic of the food display and decided to engage them despite their exorbitant fees. I have heard their explanation but not good enough. Why do I say so? 1. There wasn’t proactiveness in informing about being late on the actual day. Zero communication till I texted and called. 2. There wasn’t customer service recovery despite not giving full sets of items as quoted and the lateness. 3. No initiation to arrange pick-up for remaining items at client’s location. Even if promised to come, they didn’t turn up until I mentioned to discard (which was after a month). Clearly those claimed company assets aren’t important. Poor quality ❌ buy (again) Poor service ❌buy (again) Poor attitude ❌ buy (again) I don’t always look at the company logos collected or engaged by collaborators or partners. Those are mostly a reference to me. I buy through my personal engagement with them. Never believe they will give quality when they don’t even have the basic courtesy. I may be wrong but I’ve been proven correct time after time. Murphy law = Anything that can go wrong will go wrong I have it happened to me before as well. However, the way we actively respond to unforeseen circumstances can turn awry situations to awesome endings. Nonetheless, we aren’t perfect. We keep getting better than ourselves each time we try. #forgivingfridays are liberating. Encounter any poor services lately?
