Old Navy is hosting its 15th Annual Kids Safety Event and Donation Drive that supports our partnership with National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and Canadian Centre for Child Protection Inc. (C3P) in their critical work to keep children safe. On Saturday, 5/11, all US and Canada stores will host a Super Safety Event, inviting customers to learn more about how to keep their kids and families safe with tools and resources from NCMEC and C3P. Local community safety partners and first responders will also be on hand to share tips and make learning about safety fun! Check out a few photos from last year’s event. Old Navy stores are also hosting a donation drive Friday, 5/10 – Sunday, 5/12 to raise money for NCMEC and C3P. Customers who make a donation of $5 or more will receive an instant discount of $5 off their purchase of $35 or more (not combinable with other promotions, see store for details). #gapinc

🎉 Exciting Announcement! 🎉 On Wednesday, June 12th, we at Life Ed Qld will be hosting our first-ever Giving Day: Hand Up, Stand Up for Qld Kids! For 24 hours, every donation will be MATCHED thanks to our generous partners. This is a unique opportunity to double your impact and help us reach even more children across Queensland. Why is this so crucial? Every year, the Department of Child Safety receives over 30,000 notifications of child abuse and neglect. Many children are unsafe in their own homes, and the true scale of this issue is even larger. Our Safe Kids, Safe Bodies program empowers children with the knowledge to protect themselves and recognise abuse. On Giving Day, every $30 raised will fund this essential program for one child in a disadvantaged community. Here's how you can make a difference: 1. SAVE the date: Wednesday, June 12th. Remember, your donation will be matched for 24 hours only. 2. WATCH this video: Understand why your support is critical on this day. 3. SHARE this post: Please help us spread the word to others who are passionate about protecting children. Let's come together to ensure every child feels safe and supported. Your participation can transform lives, offering hope and a brighter furture to those who need it most!! 🔗 https://lnkd.in/guqah2Re Join us in making a real difference for Qld kids!

Meals & More has reported a huge increase in demand, as families face some of the toughest conditions since it began. The charity delivered record levels of support over the summer, as it sought to assist vulnerable families struggling in the face of the cost-of-living crisis. Meals and More helped 270 holiday clubs, provided more than 250,000 meals and extended its Big Day Out programme, which helps to give children an enriching experience over the summer holidays. This year, more than 2,000 children were given the opportunity to enjoy a Big Day Out. Peter McGrath, Operations Director at Meals & More, said: “I’m very proud of the support that Meals & More has delivered this year, but equally disappointed that we still must. We are so grateful that our supporters continue to fund us so generously, as without their donations we would not be able to help the tens of thousands of children that we do." 📣 A survey of 9,000 teachers in England has found that one in four brought food into school out of concern for hungry pupils. We get good to eat food to 2,000 charity and community groups that provide after school, holiday, and breakfast clubs to children and young people. Many families have become reliant on these over the summer holidays. The cost of living crisis has forced many of these schools to move from catering breakfast clubs during termtime to passing on food to parents via food banks, pantries, and other support services. We cannot meet the skyrocketing demand for food, and has over 1,500 charities on its waiting list, 600 of which support school-aged children. Support our appeal to help get food to people who need it most 👉 https://lnkd.in/ej85Fgnd 💚 George Wright

This is horrifying - This quote is a wake-up call that is badly needed: ————- — “Did you know that 1 in 5 children who use the internet have been sexually solicited?” — ————- - How many children do you have? - How many friends, teammates, classmates, cousins… do your children have? - How quickly did you get to 5? This isn’t somebody else’s problem. #HumanTraffickingAwareness #TechThatProtects #HumanTraffickingPrevention #ItEndsHere #HumanTrafficking
Did you know that 1 in 5 children who use the internet have been sexually solicited? [Pew Research Center] This statistic underscores the importance of safeguarding our children's online experiences and promoting digital literacy to protect them from potential threats. I have seen a few negative articles in the media recently about gift cards, and what happens to the leftover dollars after they expire. While Chuffed Gifts are NOT dollar value gift cards, and the vast majority of Gifts we sell are used at one of our awesome experience partners, there is a small percentage of our gifts that reach the 2-year mark without being used. So, we've set up an alternative outcome. Chuffed Gift recipients now have the choice of five awesome Kiwi charities to donate the value of their gift to: https://lnkd.in/gb-cnK-f We set up Chuffed Gifts to be an incredible gift with a great outcome for all, and this is the next step in that direction.
