The rise of AI agents, or automated autonomous software programs that can interact with the world just like humans to complete tasks, will only become more advanced as agents themselves can now take on digital avatars to perform jobs, such as customer interactions.

NVIDIA announced the general availability of NVIDIA ACE generative AI microservices to accelerate the next wave of digital humans, as well as new generative AI breakthroughs coming soon to the platform. The NVIDIA platform for interactive, hyper-real avatars is now generally available! It's already in use by a small number of digital human companies like Uneeq and Aww. This is a powerful confirmation that avatars are the natural evolution of chatbots and voicebots for customer facing applications. This is exactly the belief which inspired me to build yakwith.ai - AI counter service staff for retail and hospitality. While many people are worried that these bots may take jobs, in speaking to many small and medium sized hospitality and retail business owners, the reality is that the jobs at risk are jobs that people don't want in a post COVID world or have such high turn over that hiring and retraining becomes a huge cost to the business. It remains to be seen if these high end avatars and the hefty GPU compute needed to get genuinely real time interaction (less than 1 second response times) make it viable to use for 'long work shift'. But when one of the world's largest companies invests in putting a human face to human computer interaction it's time to accept that the new frontier is open and here to stay.
