Commission-only sales reps are a win-win for both businesses & reps: ✅ Low risk from company side as salary is based solely on performance ✅ Increased performance of sales team members who HAVE to sell to earn ✅ Higher quality sales reps who back their own ability ✅ Greater earning potential for higher quality sales reps If you're a sales rep who's confident in your own ability to close, taking no base salary and asking for a 10-15% commission is a no-brainer.

Who is a sales rep? A sales rep is a person who is skilled in the art of persuading people, businesses, organizations, or government agencies to purchase products or services. The goal of virtually every organization is to make money, which makes sales representatives essential. Sales reps give consumers an understanding of the products or services offered by a company and demonstrate why and how to use the product with the goal of convincing clients to make a purchase. They also listen to consumers and attend conferences to understand their needs and use that information to recommend the product that suits them best. The job of a sales rep can be exhilarating, stressful, and challenging but at the same time a rewarding one . A sales rep day starts very early in the morning and ends very late in the evening. Below is a snippet of the main daily tasks a sales rep executes. *Finding new sales leads *Meeting and exceeding sales quotas *Educating and planning presentations *Researching and communicating a consumer’s needs *Working with other departments to drive sales efforts A sales rep career can be challenging but if it is something you enjoy doing, the stress won’t be a deterrent. Having to convince people to buy something they may not need or want can be difficult. What Is a Sales Representative? A sales rep interacts directly with customers throughout all phases of the sales process. They’re responsible for identifying a customer’s needs, pitching relevant products or services, and ensuring they have a positive experience from start to finish. In some cases, a sales agent will cold call prospects they find through business directories or client referrals. Other times, “warm” leads that have already expressed interest will be sent to them by their company’s marketing team. Being successful requires a mix of both building and maintaining customer relationships and consistently seeking new business opportunities.
